The new moon happens this week on Thursday, March 10th, at 4:10 am EST here in the U.S. This is a great period for invoking the help of a Higher Power to bring blessings into your own life (as well as into the lives of others.)

You've probably seen my past posts about writing yourself a new moon abundance check, and success stories continue to pour in from people who have used this simple, fun technique to concretize the powerful energy of the new moon time. You can write an abundance check to unblock the flow of energy in any area of your life. You can write one for improved health, relationship happiness, or creative inspiration. You can write it for a specific amount (or an open-ended amount) of money. The possibilities are endless.

You can also have more than one check "active" at a given time and use the additional checks to focus on issues like world peace, international healing, and increased humanitarian aid for those in need. The idea is to use this ritual as a way to focus your prayers in the world of "3-D," and this is a fun one which really works.

The Check As a Symbol

Sometimes when we pray for something, we can be too vague about the intentions that we're setting. This limits their ability to manifest here in the world of 3-D. A new moon check is a very specific form of power prayer and a wonderful tool to add to your spiritual toolbox. It's a form of "faith healing for the pocketbook" (if you are working on increasing your financial flow.) Or it can become"faith healing for relationships" (if you're focusing on improving interpersonal relationships.)

Obviously, in and of itself, a check has zero power, but in this culture, we associate almost all of our ability to receive money with checks. So we GIVE the symbolic energy of the check a tremendous psychic charge through our belief systems, habits, and unconscious attitudes. Almost all of us get paid by check, and there's nothing quite like that momentary adrenalin rush we experience when we see magic numbers on a check, made out in our name. (Those of you who receive payment through direct deposit miss out on this little thrill!) So by using a cue like a check that has tremendous power to our subconscious minds and consecrating that check as a spiritual item for freeing up energy flow, we're satisfying the left- brained, practical part of ourselves (which lives in 3-D) as well as the fourth dimensional, spiritual self.

Writing yourself a new moon abundance check gets ALL of our energy bodies aligned to the same purpose, uniting the power of the left and the right brain, the conscious and the subconscious, in working to achieve the same task.

What If It Doesn't "Work?"

If you wrote yourself an abundance check and it didn't "work," don't count this little ritual out! You may have been focusing on an amount of money that was too high for you to easily receive at that time. Everyone's "receiving threshold" is different. For some people, manifesting an additional $100 per month is huge. For others, $10,000 is but the blink of an eye. So if you're having troubles manifesting through this technique, experiment with a different amount of money. In February, for instance, I manifested an additional $1500 out of thin air when I paid a brief visit to Atlantic City. This taught me a lot about my own "receiving threshold." (In case you're wondering, I'm working hard at expanding my threshold! I'm ready for an upgrade. :)

Or, if you're VERY blocked about money stuff just now, try writing the check out for something else.....make it out for a romantic interlude with your special someone; for an encounter with a new and wonderful friend; for a meaningful conversation of loving depth with a family member; for an unexpected small gift to arrive; etc. Once you see that there ARE areas of life in which you are open to receiving, you'll see that this same intention can be applied to areas where you may still be blocked. Keep chipping away at it, and you'll soon uncover many insights about how you expend and receive energy from this ever-abundant world which surrounds you.

This week's new moon falls in the sign of Pisces, which is a dreamy and intuitive sign, so the character of this new moon period is somewhat reflective and internal. If you write yourself a new moon abundance check, I'd suggest keeping this ritual private, a secret and wonderful thing that nobody else knows about. Don't deplete its power by announcing it to anyone. Allow the energy time to gather power on the inner planes without other people's thoughtforms interfering with it.
