Halloween
is one of eight times a year when this dimension intersects
powerfully with the other “worlds”that
exist around us (and within us, if you want to give
yourself a headache thinking about quantum realities.)
So it’s easier to communicate with them and
to receive information from other dimensions at these
holiday times. It’s also easier to visit them
through astral projection, dream travel, and shamanic
journeying. And when I say “other dimensions,”I
mean locations ranging from the angelic realm to the
land of the dead to the worlds of our spiritual guides
and power animals. Each of these astral layers exists
as bands of energy or frequencies of vibration, and
during the eight pagan holiday times, it's easier
to attune ourselves to these levels of reality. Our
psychic "hearing" and "vision" are
magnified so that we can better perceive these subtle
layers that both co-exist with this dimension and
exist outside of this dimension (again, the quantum
jigsaw puzzle.)
Prayers
and rituals performed during these times are especially
potent and can quickly manifest results. These holidays
were mapped out by indigenous peoples many millennia
ago as key times to anchor your intentions about what
you want to create. They have become known as the
eight major “pagan”holidays, but the word “pagan”can
stir up some misunderstanding in people.
“Pagan”comes
from the word “pagani,”or “of the
country.”The pagani were the indigenous peoples
of Europe, like the Celts, who hadn’t yet lost
their sacred connection with the cycles of nature.
The Celts honored the times of year when spiritual
energies crossed over into this third dimensional,
material world. They knew that these energies could
be shaped by people who knew how to access and direct
them. And this wisdom was also kept alive by other
energy sensitives from Africa to the Americas to Australia.
Shamans,
seers, witches, medicine men, healers, and mystics
all felt their own metaphysical gifts heightened at
these times of year. So they would make use of these
times to set powerful prayers into motion. They did
rituals designed to help themselves, their families,
and their communities to achieve different ends. What
you wish for and what you hold in your heart is highly
likely to come true when you consciously use these
times for prayer, affirmation, and visualization.
The early wise ones knew all about this and kept this
wisdom alive throughout the centuries.
“Wiccan,”by
the way, comes from the early European words “witan,”to
know, and “wican,”to bend. People who
identify with the term Wiccan today are people who
actively study the arts of knowing and bending metaphysical
energies. There are white magic practitioners, grey
magic, and black magic types, because ultimately these
energies are like “the Force”in Star Wars.
You can either be a Luke Skywalker, using these energies
for good, or you can be a Darth Vader, using them
for dark purposes. And some fall in between those
two poles.
(Myself,
I’m a mystical pagan shaman healer psychic astrologer
artist comedienne plus a Gnostic Christian. Just thought
I’d throw that out there to confuse you!)
Some
of my readers have asked me what the other seven holidays
are besides Halloween, so I thought I’d lay
them out here. Keep in mind that for the three days
before the holiday and three days afterwards, you’re “in
the power of the time.”So it’s not just
that day that has potent energy. The entire week that
flows around these holidays carries a strong vibration.
Ostara
or the Spring Equinox –March 21 or thereabouts.
“Ostara”is
a variation of “Easter”which is derived
from “Eostre,”the early pagan goddess
of the spring. Eostre was the hare goddess, represented
by a hare (European cousin of the rabbit.) She was
a goddess of fertility, beauty, and abundance. The
spring equinox is also the day of the astrological
New Year, when the sun enters the sign of Aries. Energetically,
this is our “true”New Year, the best time
to make fresh starts, identify goals, and set intentions
about things we want to create in our lives.
Beltane,
also May Day –(April 30 but usually celebrated
May 1 st)
A
time when sexual energies are at their peek; a period
of raw creative power; the period when fertility of
all kinds –creative, physical, and spiritual –is
the strongest. Things that you decided to create around
the time of the spring equinox are now gathering strength,
density, and momentum.
Litha/Summer
Solstice –(June 21 st or so)
A
period of communion with the sun energies and the
male aspects of ourselves; a celebratory, joyful time;
a life-affirming holiday. Solar energies are strongest
on this, the longest day of the year. A great time
for social interaction, reunions, tribal gatherings.
Lammas/August
1 st
Summer
energies are waning, and there can be some melancholy
as summer fades into early autumn. A good time for
meditation, progress reports, and for figuring out
how you are doing both spiritually and materially.
A period for taking stock of things.
Mabon/Autumnal
Equinox –Around September 21 st
A
time of “personal harvest,”when the seeds
you planted at the spring equinox and Beltane are
likely to bear fruit, whether this be in the form
of physical pregnancy, personal achievement, or creative
breakthrough. A time for celebrating all that you
have accomplished and congratulating yourself on your
hard work.
Samhain/Halloween –October
31 st
When
the “veil”or layers of energy that separate
different densities are thinnest; it’s easiest
to do shamanic journeying, commune with spirits of
the dead, and access guidance from one’s spiritual
helpers. It’s also a key time for looking into
probable realities, examining multiple timestreams,
and doing prophecy. The dream plane is also very active
at this time. Deceptions and negative entities can
also offer temptations here, so spiritual discernment
is important.
Yule/Winter
Solstice –Around December 21 st
A
solemn time when the darkness is stronger than the
light, both physically (it’s the shortest day
of the year and the sun shines the briefest time that
it will all year) and spiritually (the shadow realms
are closer, their density is felt powerfully in this
dimension.) A time for withdrawing, retreating, pulling
within. Also a good period for self-examination and
considering the many adventures you’ve had over
the past year.
Imbolc/Groundhog
Day- February 2nd
A
brief respite from the darkness and emotional isolation
of winter. A time to peek your head out of your burrow
(like the groundhog) and connect with loved ones you
haven’t seen for a while. It’s also a
good time to look at projects that you would like
to start up ahead. But wait to launch them until the
astrological New Year/spring equinox. Imbolc is a
great period for getting mentally prepared for the
things you’d like to accomplish later in the
spring.
If
You Live in the Southern Hemisphere
Please
note that the pagan holidays are reversed if you live
in the southern hemisphere.
So
the winter solstice would be celebrated June 21st,
the first day of your winter, and the summer solstice
would occur on December 21st, the first day of your
summer.
Imbolc
would be celebrated at Lammas time (August 1st.) Lammas,
in return, would be moved to February 2nd.
Halloween,
while still celebrated secularly on October 31st,
would actually be energetically happening on Beltane
(April 20th or May 1st.) Beltane then gets moved to
October 31st.
And
the spring (March 21) and autumn equinoxes (September
21) would be switched.
Basically,
the metaphysical energies of each holiday are oriented
to your local seasons, when certain openings occur
in the magnetic field of the Earth. They are reversed
for the northern and southern hemispheres.
Feeling
the Energy of These Times
It
takes time and effort to develop your energy sensitivity,
and one of the best ways to do this is to keep a journal.
You don’t need to write in it every day. But
simply jotting down your dreams, your emotions, and
your thoughts around these eight major holidays is
a place to start. As that day approaches, take stock
of how you feel and what issues are surfacing in your
life. You’ll soon realize that you have a “high”cycle
around times like the spring equinox or Beltane and
that your “low”cycle is likely to fall
around the winter solstice. And it's likely that you
could feel a bit morbid or depressed around intense
times like Halloween, when so many other dimensions
(some of them dark realities) are pressing their way
into this realm.
There’s
nothing “wrong”with you if you are experiencing
these energy shifts. In fact, it means that you are
in tune with Mother Nature, who in the end, has the
most to teach us. After all, we are meant to express
our creative spirits down here in the world of “3 –D,”and
by learning to harmonize ourselves with the cycles
of Nature, we’ll maximize our chances of success
in every area of our lives. Working with her instead
of against her is the key.
Pretty
soon, you’ll be surfing those energy waves with
confidence, and you'll have a full understanding of
how to make use of these wonderful power periods.
So get out that cosmic surfboard and get into the
flow!
