The Ghost Whisperer Ghost Busting Show

Jennifer Love Hewitt is starring in a CBS show called The Ghost Whisperer. It's based on the real life adventures of an actual ghostbuster, a woman who can see and talk to the spirits of the deceased.

I haven't checked it out yet, but it was interesting to see that Hewitt is talking publically about her own experiences with ghosts. She's sensed the presences of ghosts in her own home and felt that her energy was being drained by them. Fortunately, a ghostbuster was able to clear them out.

You Might Live in a Haunted House

Homes are hotbeds of psychic activity because people expend so much emotion in them over the years. Many souls become so attached to their homes that when they die they stick around. Even if nothing particularly sad or melodramatic happened to the spirit, they often fail to go off to the Light and end up clinging to this plane.

It's a sad kind of pseudo-existence for them because they are neither "here nor there." They're unable to affect matter in this plane and can't be seen by most people, and, at the same time, they are unable to move off to higher dimensions because of their emotional attachments here.

The most common cases I see are what I call "little old lady syndrome." In homes where an old woman, often a widow, lived for years and years and gradually declined in health, there is frequently a strong presence there. The lady fails to leave this plane because of her excessive emotional attachment to her home which built up over time.

Such a spirit was attached to the home we are currently living in, and it was our cats who first alerted us to her presence! One night our sensitive female, Smoky, climbed up on the bed with her yellow eyes big as saucers and kept saying, "There's a lady here, there's a lady here!" She seemed kind of startled and unnerved by it.

We made contact with the "lady," who turned out to be an older woman who lived here for almost her whole life, and we lovingly worked to send her to the Light when she was ready. Much of what she told us was later verified when her grandson, who makes a yearly pilgrimage back to the area, stopped by and regaled us with tales about his grandmum and the history of this property. This land had been owned by generations of the same family dating back to the 1700's, so there is a strong familial energy here that we continue to respect and honor.

Everyone Needs to Be a Ghost Buster

I used to do professional ghostbusting, and I also work daily to clear out discarnate energies wherever I happen to be. The fact is that discarnates are extremely common and need to be cleared out of just about every space you could imagine, from homes to streets to stores to restaurants. I've found that the "old lady syndrome" is the most common situation to be found. Even if the old lady didn't die in the home, she will often still be "stuck" there.

I've encountered many situations where the new owners were having negative dreams, a sense of dread, and other subtle yet disturbing problems, and it was all due to the old lady not wanting people around what she still perceived to be her home! Unable to move on and unwilling to let go, such spirits will often kick up disturbances, creating minor annoyances in the home out of frustration and anger. These spirits don't really mean any harm. To understand their point of view, realize that they are somewhat mentally unbalanced due to their failure to make a smooth transition to a higher dimension. They are experiencing stress and they are not quite themselves. They tend to misinterpret your presence in their home as an invasion of sorts because they aren't moving through time anymore and they aren't marking the passage of time the way we do. So, to them, there hasn't been any sale of the house, and it's still theirs, so they are very distressed and confused about seeing you there! That's pretty much the mindset of the average old lady haunt, and it's the reason why such spirits need to be treated with patience, love, and compassion so that they can experience healing and move on.

You can pray for God/Goddess/Great Spirit, the angels, Jesus, and the great teachers to gently and lovingly work with the spirit and urge her (or him) to go off to the Light for healing and continual growth on their path. All it takes is a tiny bit of time and a tiny bit of caring, and you can accomplish great good.
