Oprah's Favorite Things 2007- Samsung Camcorder

Oprah has been sharing her yearly "Oprah's Favorite Things" list with her viewers, and one of the items on her list this year was a cool camcorder from Samsung.

If you're like me and you tend to be intimidated by the whole video/camera thang, you've probably held off on buying a video camera. I know I have. The whole thing just seems very difficult to me. Most camcorders are bulky and not at all portable. Who wants to be dragging around a huge piece of equipment at a party or family event where your main goal should be to simply have fun?

Well, as Oprah pointed out in her Favorite Things 2007 episode, Samsung has come out with a great product to solve those camcorder concerns.

It's the Samsung Progressive HD Camcorder, SC-HMX10C. It's a slim, handheld, light as a feather camcorder that is just what the doctor ordered. There's no way that this thing will distract you if you're attending a special event. You can just carry it around with you like a normal camera. It's just a little bit bigger than a regular camera. I have a nice Kodak digital camera, but even it is harder to carry than this Samsung camcorder. My digital camera is kind of square and blocky and annoying - although it takes good pictures. This camcorder is one sleek baby!

I don't always agree with the products Oprah lists in her yearly Favorite Things episode, but in this case, she got it right. If you are camera shy and intimidated by the usual camcorders out there, and if you'd like a camcorder that's very intuitive (read: girl-friendly and not so "techy") then this camcorder will be a welcome tool. Imagine taking video of your kid's birthday party, your parent's anniversary dinner, or your child's graduation without having to lug around some huge and annoying video recorder!  The Samsung Progressive HD Camcorder is a marvelous tool to allow you to record life's most precious moments, without feeling like you can't do anything else with your hands. It's really easy to use and the quality of the images it records is amazing!

These camcorders are a little pricey - around $800 - but they are well worth it. You won't have to ever invest in another camcorder because this one will do everything you want it to do - plus it's so easy to use, you'll be taking it everywhere with you.
