Feeling
a bit hung over or out of sorts? Wondering why you feel like an
elephant has recently walked over you, stomping on all your tender
bits? You can thank the recent Presidential election for that. Even
my readers outside the US know that a lot of intense emotions, news
reports, and heated passions accompanied this seemingly endless
election season. Now it's over - at least, that's what we're supposed
to believe. (Reports of vote tampering, fraud, and those uncounted
provisional votes in Ohio notwithstanding.) Whatever might be happening
throughout the rest of November, it's up to us to steer clear of
any lingering toxic stuff and do our best to regain spiritual equilibrium.
Here is the Lipstick Mystic's
November guide to overcoming that post-election hangover.
Scorpios -
Of all the signs, you're doing the best right now. The sun in
your sign marks your "solar return," that four week
period which happens every year. During a solar return, the sun
returns to the sign it was in at your birth. Consider it a personal
New Year of sorts, a time to make plans, dream big, and build
up enthusiasm for changes you want to make over the next eleven
months. It's good for you to be a little selfish right now. Turn
within and reconnect with your inner child. Offer him lots of
lollipops and hugs. Nurture yourself, visit a spa, schedule a
session with a body worker who will make you feel great. You deserve
to live a little.
During this solar return period,
Scorpios will be figuring out what they really want to be when
they grow up, free of outside opinions, family pressures, or tribal
influences. By the way, you can be 60 years old and still not
be "grown up!" So it's never too late to change your
mind about personal matters or shift gears with your professional
life. From now until November 22nd, Scorpios will be gathering
momentum for this next eleven month cycle. Pull in positive energy
from people, places, and things that inspire you, and you'll be
good to go by the time the sun moves into Sagittarius on the 22nd.
Side note - Venus enters Scorpio
on November 23rd, staying there until December 17th. Can we say
- holiday snugglebunnies? Romantic fun, flirtation, and overall
friskiness will be major themes for Scorpios throughout that time.
Have fun!
Taurus -
I want to take a moment to say "Don't shoot yourself." Okay,
you needed to hear that, right? With the sun, Venus, and Mars
lining up opposite your sign, try to hang tight until the end
of December. That's when you'll be clear of all of these planetary
downtrends. If you feel bummed out, stressed out, or generally
out of sorts, blame those politicians if you have to. But don't
lose hope. This is just the time of year when you are in a drab
cycle, a time when you might need extra kindness in your life.
Watch your favorite comedies over and over again for a lift. Cuddle
with pets and supportive romantic partners. You need a little
coddling right now. Slow down, relax, and focus on healing. You'll
soon be feeling chipper again. Look for your usual perky self
to return by the time the sun enters Capricorn on December 22nd.
Libra -
A lot of good things are happening for you right now. Venus, planet
of creativity and romance, and Mercury, the communication and
travel planet, are both in your sign, stirring up a lot of social
action. Circulate widely. Visit friends you haven't seen in, like,
ages. Get a makeover or do some serious shopping at your favorite
clothing store. You'll want to be the fashionista. Personal appearance
and image are everything this month, so put your best foot forward
(not to mention those other appendages.) Looking great and feeling
great could help you to land a key interview, hot date, or exciting
new friendship. Go for it!
Everybody
Else - November is a bit of a mixed bag. Air signs (Gemini,
Libra, Aquarius) and Fire signs (Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius)
will feel stirred up, perhaps a bit restless. There could be
a lot of starting and stopping. One minute, you're clear about
what you want to do and you know just what to do to get there.
The next minute, you're seriously considering retiring from
it all and building yourself a nice log cabin in the wilderness.
(Might be a good idea.) Don't pressure yourself to have 100%
clarity throughout this holiday season. Remember, we're building
up to the winter solstice on December 22, and that's an intense
time of year, when the "dark" or shadow energies can
be their strongest. You could be going through a lot of emotional
clearing, physical healing, and general detox. Steer clear of
trouble as best you can and take it easy. Don't buy 50 Christmas
or Hanukah presents for everybody on your list when one will
do just as well. Don't overdecorate your house if you feel uninspired
or tired. Don't attempt to cook holiday dinner for 30 people
if take out is available in your area.
In short, be kind to yourself.
November will have its share of energy bumps, those brief ups
and downs that can give you vertigo. But, if you hang on tightly
and remember to laugh at the melodrama, you'll emerge with your
sanity - and your spiritual health - fully intact.
Look for my future article about
managing the energies of the winter solstice to arrive sometime
in early December.
Meanwhile, don't let the planets
bum you out! All they do is to reveal energy patterns. It's up
to us to make the most of them. The Lipstick Mystic has given
you some tips on surfing the cosmic tide. Enjoy the ride!
