As I've written in my past articles about the new moon, the new moon is a powerful time for "clearing the deck," expelling negative energy and releasing unhealthy habits and thoughtforms.

It's also a mini "New Year" which gives us a marvelous spiritual boost of energy. This concentration of good vibes can inspire us to set intentions about changes we want to manifest in our lives.

We call it a blue moon when there is a second new moon in a given month. There's one this week on Friday, December 30th at 10:12 pm EST here in the US. It happens in the practical Earth sign of Capricorn. Of all of the new moons that happened in 2005, this is the one with the most unique doorway for "magical work" of all kinds.

Power Prayer, Spells, and Manifesting

Whether you ascribe to the idea of performing prayers or you like to frame your metaphysical work around the concept of "spells" or manifesting, this blue moon should be an explosive day for white wizard work!

Be thinking about situations or events that you really want to PUSH for as you experience this blue moon. Visualize things as you would like to see them happen over the next weeks and months. As your desires crystallize, FEEL them as if they have ALREADY manifested on the physical plane. Allow yourself to savor the emotions of joy, thankfulness, and satisfaction as these things you have envisioned come to pass. Charge up your prayers or magical work with visualization and emotion, and they will quickly gain mass on the etheric plane, which speeds up their manifesting on the physical plane.

Don't Forget Protection

Remember to invoke the spiritual blessing and protection of God/Goddess/Great Spirit to guide your creations (and protect you from MISCREATING, which can happen when we are being too willful about something.)

Once in a while, the situation we believe in our heart to be best for us later turns out to be a VERY BAD IDEA INDEED.

You wouldn't believe how many metaphysical types I've known through the years who turned themselves blue from focusing on a particular romance to manifest or a certain job to become available to them. Then, when it did happen, it turned out to be a BAD THING. The gorgeous man whom the woman believed was her soulmate turned out to be an abusive jailbird. The great job that the guy thought would be perfect for him turned out to be a hellish prison.

When you are praying for something and focusing all of that spiritual power on manifesting a certain condition, be careful and don't be TOO willful or TOO specific. Always leave some wriggle room. Ask God or a Higher Power to guide your creations towards the positive. This way, you'll be protected against manifesting situations that might not be to your highest good.

I like to add to my own power prayer work "For the highest good of everyone" as I focus on bringing about a certain condition. That way, if manifesting the object of my desire would hurt someone (another person or myself,) or knock them off track spiritually, the thing won't manifest. You can also say, "God willing" or "Goddess willing" or "Great Spirit willing," so that you are clear that you accede to God's will above yours. (I figure S/He's a lot smarter than us, so it's a good idea to acknowledge it!)

Restore the Divine Plan for Your Life

Here's another good way to approach power prayer. Think of the area of your life that you want to change for the better. This is likely to be one of "the usual suspects," areas which are common to everyone. They are things like physical health, emotional well-being, personal relationships, family life, financial situation, work situation, and housing situation. These are the biggies that we are usually focusing on when we pray or perform rituals to change the conditions of our life.

Pick the area that you wish to change. In this case, let's say it is physical health.

As you pray on this situation and invoke the Divine to shift it around towards the positive, engage your powers of visualization (really see yourself feeling well) and emotion (evoke the emotions of joy and gratitude you'll be having after you regain your health.) As you sit in the energy of the visual and emotional elements for your prayer, set the intention that you are RESTORING THE DIVINE PLAN FOR YOUR HEALTH.

If you were praying about manifesting a great romantic relationship, you would pray that God/Goddess/Great Spirit RESTORE THE DIVINE PLAN FOR YOUR ROMANTIC LIFE.

The key thing is to work with these words or something close to them:

"I invoke God/Goddess/Great Spirit to restore the divine plan for my .......health, job, relationships, finance, etc."

Accessing the Divine Blueprint of Perfection

Long before we agreed to come down to the physical plane and incarnate into physical bodies, we were one with the Divine. This vibration is perfect, not flawed. We have the ability, through our spiritual "homework" in this life, to realign ourselves with the divine blueprint of our being. And we can consciously invoke this, setting the intention that we are going to reconnect with this Divine Plan or Divine Blueprint to improve ourselves spiritually and materially.

But we have to set that intention in order for the miracles to start really flowing. We have to reach UP in our consciousness and embrace all of the bounty that that Higher Power has available for us.

So you have to ask for it. You have to reach up and grab it and then shine that incredible Divine Light on whichever aspect of your life is the most troublesome. Over time, if you work with this prayer, you'll experience some amazing shifts and improvements. And then you can start focusing on other areas of your life you would like to improve.

Restoring God's Plan for the Earth

Whenever I'm really charged up from a prayer session I like to share that energy with Mother Earth, her animals, plants, and minerals, and - of course - all of the other peoples of this planet.

It's a very powerful thing to focus on restoring God's Divine plan for the Earth. Add this piece to your own prayer work and see what you experience. There is so much love and gratitude that comes back from the Earth as you connect with her in this way. And the collective spirit of humanity, which is struggling to find its way back home, projects such an amazing frequency of love when you engage with it in this way.

Enjoy This Blue Moon

So enjoy the blue moon this Friday. The powerful energy of the blue moon will be strongest on Friday and Saturday, then it starts to fade. Either day is the perfect time to engage in power prayer and work toward restoring the Divine Plan for all aspects of your life, accessing the frequency of abundance and miracles and making it a permanent part of your life.

Correction:

Technically, a blue moon is when there is a second FULL MOON in a given month. I had this term wrong.

However, there is an equally rare phenomenon of a second NEW MOON happening in a given month.

I can't find a name for this.

It does mean that the power of the new moon is doubled or in "turbo" mode.

It's just not a blue moon.

Maybe we should start calling it a "magenta moon" because it's so metaphysically powerful?
