I've been meaning to post a master list of the new moon times for 2006 and explain which sign each new moon falls under. A reader prompted me to do so today, so I'm finally taking the hint!
Sunday, January 29, 2006 New Moon in Aquarius
Time: 9:15 am Eastern Standard Time in the U.S.
Aquarius is an Air sign, so expect creativity, imagination, and artistic talents to be highlighted in your own life. Mental work of all kinds will be strengthened on that day, as will any activities involving the use of technology such as graphic design, digital photography, learning new software, etc.
January 29 is also the date of the Chinese New Year for 2006. It will be the year of the Dog. Dog energy is affectionate, playful, and highly intelligent. Look for existing friendships to expand for you throughout the twelve months of the Dog year and be open to experimenting with new social groups, religious organizations, and educational settings.

There is a solar eclipse right before the new moon time, happening at 7:41am EDT. Because the sun doesn't move into the sign of Libra until 12:03am on the 23 and the moon doesn't enter Libra until slightly after the actual new moon time on the 22nd, the new moon actually occurs while both the moon and the sun are in the sign of Virgo, just like last month. So technically this is a second new moon in the sign of Virgo - which will provide a double dose of good energy for you Virgos, Tauruses, and Capricorns.
Still, Libran energies will be extremely strong, so you can also honor the Libran energies since they officially kick in late on the 22nd and early the 23rd. A second moon in Virgo can be used to crystallize your intentions from the prior new moon and to continue to add energy and emotional steam to your intentions.
Libra is an Air sign, so there will be a mixture of Earth and Air energies zapping around on the 22nd. It's important to remain grounded in reality while also entertaining the creative buzz that the Air energies are bringing in.
