Happy "Magenta" Moon Tonight Plus Stuart Wilde Meditation

There's a rare "Magenta Moon" tonight - the second new moon in a given month. This one happens at 10:17 pm EST in the sign of Capricorn. The other day I was incorrect in calling this a blue moon, because blue moons are actually when there are two FULL moons in a given month. There doesn't appear to be a name for a second NEW moon falling in a month, so I'm calling it a Magenta Moon.

Magenta is a deep, rich color that is very purifying and powerful. At the new moon, you have a time when it is easiest to do healing and clearing. Since tonight is a double new moon - the second new moon in December - I think Magenta Moon is a good name for it. Let's use tonight and tomorrow to focus on healing, creativity, and spiritual cleansing.

Author and mystic Stuart Wilde recently shared a neat meditation at his website. He calls it a solstice meditation because some people did it at the recent winter solstice time. But tonight's Magenta Moon and the coming New Year's Day are also great times to do this same meditation.

Check it out, and have a happy Magenta Moon!

Seeing Colored Lights, Sparkles or "Sparkies"

Over the years many people have shared their sparkie stories with me. Sparkies are spirit lights that can appear when we are meditating or engaged in prayer. They can also show up when we're not doing anything metaphysical. I originally wrote an article about this back in April. Do You See Sparkies?

Today a reader writes in to share her own experiences with seeing sparkies. It's the Mystic Mail feature for the week.

Get Ready for the Upcoming Blue Moon on Friday

Merry post-Christmas to everyone, and happy Hannukah and Kwanzaa to all readers who are honoring those holidays this week.

This is a special week for many reasons. One is the fact that there will be a rare blue moon happening this Friday, December 30th. It happens at 10:12 pm EST here in the US and occurs in the sign of Capricorn.

What does this mean? Have a look at my latest article and see:

Blue Moon in Capricorn: Restoring the Divine Plan for Your Life.

Correction:

Technically, a blue moon is when there is a second FULL MOON in a given month. I had this term wrong.

However, there is an equally rare phenomenon of a second NEW MOON happening in a given month.

I can't find a name for this.

It does mean that the power of the new moon is doubled or in "turbo" mode.

It's just not a blue moon.

Maybe we should start calling it a "magenta moon" because it's so metaphysically powerful?

What do you think?

Happy Solstice to You Plus Some Astrology Trends for Winter

Happy winter solstice to you! The winter solstice is one of eight major "power times" each year when it's easier to access spiritual energies and invoke the highest, most loving energies. It's a great time for all forms of power prayer, spiritual ritual, and meditation.

The actual time of the solstice is 1:35 pm Eastern Standard Time here in the U.S. Read more about the solstice and the astrological energies for winter 2006.

Please note: This blog will be on vacation for the holiday. It will resume Tuesday, December 27th.

Also note: The next new moon is a rare blue moon (a second new moon occuring in a month) in the sign of Capricorn. It takes place Friday, December 30th at 10:12 pm EST here in the U.S.

Cats Expressing Their Love for Christmas in Their Own, Special Way

I'm sitting on top of major deadlines today (always a painful process,) so I don't have time to wax poetic about anything mystical today.

However, for your education and amusement, I bring you. . .

Cats in Christmas Trees

This is what would be happening at our house if I bothered to put up a tree.

Hopefully, this isn't happening at your house.

What Would You Like to Hear on Future Radio Shows?

Thanks very much to everyone who tuned in to my broadcast on What a World Radio with Dr. Nevyn Campanella last night. We got started a little late, which can happen with Net radio when various producers are working from different locations. But by 11:10pm we were able to start a fun and lively discussion about the problems currently facing the metaphysical community, and we also covered many cutting edge healing techniques that I enjoy sharing with people.

We're in talks to set up a once a month show this spring where I would come on and discuss self-healing techniques that people can put into practice in their own lives. I'll keep you updated here.

Meanwhile, last night's show will be archived before long - probably sometime over the next few weeks. I'll let you know here in my blog and in my "listen" section when it gets archived.

Here are some questions for you: What hot healing subjects or issues would YOU like me to cover in future radio appearances, articles, and eBooks? What's on your mind? What issues are you trying to clear out in your own life? What would you like to find solutions to? All of this feedback will help me to create user-friendly and practical tips for healing and well-being, stuff that you can use in 2006 to make your life a whole lot better.

Thanks for your input! I can't always respond to each individual email, but I do eventually get the chance to read each letter and take them all into account when I create articles and come up with guest interviews. So your notes are appreciated!

Lipstick Mystic's Upcoming Net Radio Appearance

I can't wait to appear on Dr. Nevyn Campanella's What a World Radio this Sunday the 18th. You can listen to the show through your computer.

More details here.

I know I won't be able to share everything that's been on my mind lately, but I do intend to cover my views on the split that has been happening in the healing community - you're either a white light/positive thinker type or you're a "conspiracy theorist" who is always talking about the dark side of metaphysical energy. This polarized view doesn't help anybody. White lighters need to learn spiritual warrior techniques and know about how to protect themselves or they get into serious trouble. And "conspiracy theorists" need to remember that, despite everything scary happening in the world right now, a guiding Spirit known as Love really does permeate all of these experiences.

Did you know there are many frequencies of love? And that some will protect you from the dark, and others won't? We need to learn how to access the right frequency of love for each thing that we're moving through.

Pick up some spiritual street smarts while listening to the show. The material I'm covering is also what I'm working on for my forthcoming eBook, The High Spirits Handbook: How to Banish Bad Vibes for Good.

See you there!

Note: The broadcast will be archived and available for you to listen to any time. It will probably be archived a few weeks after the broadcast. I'll post the info in my "Listen" section.

Alijandra on The Loaves and the Fishes

Alijandra is a gifted healer who has written a marvelous book called Healing with the Rainbow Rays. She also has a free newsletter and a wonderful website. She was the subject of my guest interview last December. Read December 2004 Archived Interview with Alijandra

I just came across a neat little essay she shares at her website. In it, she describes her funny experience manifesting something.....multiplying something like in the famous story of Jesus with the loaves and the fishes.

Her story runs parallel with ones I've heard from people all over the world. I hear success stories like these all the time....like the person whose printer ran out of ink who focused on an abundance of ink and suddenly found that the ink cartridge was full...the person whose oil tank was empty and who couldn't afford new oil who prayed on the oil and found the tank half full. These tales are fascinating. They show how power prayer really works. We all have the capability to tap into the energy field of infinite abundance. Sometimes, this abundance manifests through the mysterious appearance of objects - or the multiplying of an existing object. Or it is noticeable through funny little "reality shifts" where we suddenly discover an extra $20 bill in our pocket that we would swear wasn't there before.

Think You're Psychic? Find Out in 5 Clicks

This micro-quiz will supposedly tell you in five clicks (questions) whether you're psychic or not. It bases much of this evaluation on markings in the palm. I read palms in my private psychic counselling practice for roughly ten years, and over that time, I learned to spot some of the signs in the hand which indicate intuitive ability. This quiz gets some of it right.

Mercury Retrograde Round-Up

Thank the gods that this Mercury retrograde is just about over. It ends this Saturday, December 3rd at 9:22 pm EST here in the US. I can't wait.

I thought I'd do my final round-up up retrograde incidents here. Did I mention that I caught on fire the other day? It has been a busy week.

I wish I had some wise and witty commentary about the catching fire thing, like, "Kids, the moral of the story is, don't drink and drive or else this will happen to you!"

Instead, the reason why I caught fire was rather mundane. I was sitting in a chair at a Christmas party held by our wonderful neighbors. The party was lovely, the food was fabulous, and it was one of those evenings where you end up having quality conversations with just about everybody in the room, sooner or later. I was sitting down in a chair talking to a few people and Tom was at my side.

At some point during the conversation, Tom started looking at me funny, and he let out with this controlled outburst. "Jen, you're on fire." He wasn't yelling or screaming, but he did start whacking me with his palm to put out the fire. The combination of his relatively calm voice and his bizarre actions confused me for a moment. My reaction time wasn't very fast. Thank goodness Tom's was.

There was a candle nearby that had decided to get to know my hair better. I have long hair these days, and I didn't even know I was on fire. Tom put my hair out before I felt anything, and I escaped without even being singed. He prevented me from becoming mystic toast.

I didn't feel too weird, though, because ANOTHER girl had caught fire earlier in the evening. I didn't find this out until she came around saying, "Did you catch fire, too?" She also had long hair, and she also stood too close to a candle. Her mom ran over and started hitting her, and the poor girl couldn't figure out why.

I guess the moral of the story is, always travel to a party with someone who will guard your back....or your hair, anyway.

I am glad Tom was there. I think the rest of us were so wrapped up in our conversation that we wouldn't even have noticed I was flaming until I started to melt or something.

The other Mercury retrograde incidents left to report are pretty minor in comparison to the catching fire thing. I was driving back from the grocery store with a car full of groceries, a half hour from my house on a deserted country road, and my car started making funny noises like it was going to seize up any minute. I decided to use my incredible mind over matter powers and basically scolded it, saying, "Oh, no, you don't." It simmered down after a minute and it's been fine (knock on wood) ever since.

It COULD have been one of those Mercury retrograde car repair stories, but I decided I wasn't going to allow it, not after my cat dying last week and my hair catching fire. I figured I'd had enough melodrama for one week.

I did want to mention one communication-oriented retrograde thingie that also happened. Remember how communication tends to go wonky during retrograde? There are more problems with phones, voice mail, cell phone connections, that sort of thing.

Sometimes, even when you are focused very hard on PREVENTING those problems, retrograde still finds a way to put a monkey wrench in things.

We were driving down to my parents' house in Maryland on Thanksgiving and we were running late, what with having to bury my poor cat Earl that morning and having been up 'til all hours crying ourselves silly the night before. I wanted to call my parents from the road on Tom's cell phone and update them on our arrival time.

My parents moved a few months ago, and I don't yet have their new number memorized. But before we set out on our drive I made sure I wrote down the new number on a sheet of paper which also had a map to their house drawn on it.

So all the way down I kept trying to call them on the cell phone, and the call didn't go through. The cell phone kept making a sound like my parents' phone was off the hook or something. It wasn't a busy signal, it was more of a "call isn't going through" signal. The cell phone batteries were fine because we made some other calls to test it.

When I got to my folks' I explained how I'd been trying to call them all the way down and we went to check their phones. I was sure one of their phones must be off the hook, but none of them were.

Eventually, I had a creeping suspicion that retrograde had messed with the phone number I wrote down. Sure enough, I had transposed a couple of numbers when I so carefully and methodically (I thought) wrote down their new phone number. So I was dialing the wrong number all along.

Earlier when this particular retrograde started, I was getting wrong numbers at my own phone at home. They were calls for a doctor's office. A fellow named Jose called me one day and told me he didn't feel good.

Thanksgiving day, after losing my cat and crying all night and driving five hours down to southern Maryland, I felt like calling Jose back and saying I didn't feel so good, either.

Fortunately, our visit with my parents was relaxing and great, and Tom and I were able to recharge our batteries after our stressful experiences.

Here's hoping we all coast through Saturday and access the good vibes of Mercury going direct before collecting any other harrowing retrograde stories. I'm ready. How about you?

Mystic Mail: What Do Honey Bees Mean?

Happy new moon today, folks! It happened this morning at 10:01 am EST here in the US. Those new moon energies will still be powerful for the next three days, so this is a great time to disconnect from negative habits, toxic mindsets, or disharmonious relationship situations and focus on bringing positive energy forward. This is the article I posted yesterday about the new moon and how you can access these healing energies: New Moon in Sagittarius December 1st

I've also posted something new today. A reader describes her interesting experience with honey bees and asks the Lipstick Mystic about their metaphysical significance: What is the Spiritual Meaning of Honey Bees?
