New Moon on Monday in Water Sign Pisces
This is a heads up about the new moon that is happening this Monday, February 27, 2006. The new moon will happen in the sign of Pisces at 7:31 pm EST in the U.S.
Pisces is a Water sign, emotional, highly intuitive, and extremely empathic. Under the Pisces influence we may end up exploring situations or relationships that feel out of balance, because we'll be seeking harmony on all levels. This new moon will shine a spotlight on stuff that isn't working. Although there could be some accompanying emotional drama, don't shut off those feelings. They are trying to tell you something!
Remember, too, that the new moon is an excellent time to set intentions, create, and engage in power prayer. And you might enjoy writing yourself a new moon abundance check as a ritual to connect you with prosperity and financial flow. 9 to 5 - Fun Game - Make Your Doggie Work Proper Hours
Okay, it's dreaded deadline day here, which means that the brain circuits are all tied up doing important things like composing silly horoscopes about Sagittarians and how their love lives are as screwed up as Britney Spears' at the moment. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
Instead of composing an article, I have a game for you. The animators at Eclectech.co.uk created a marvelous little game called 9 to 5. You determine the start and end time for a puppy's work day, and depending on how many hours he works, fun things happen.
Okay, I'm not explaining it very well. Two words: Cute Puppies!
Go see!

Psychic Dog Premonition Comes True
The other night I was watching some of the Westminster Kennel Club Show on TV, marvelling at all the amazing breeds of dog who were competing for a chance at Top Dog. I don't know much about show dogs and the whole dog show world. I do know that my chiropractor works on both people and dogs, and it's a real trip when you go in for an appointment on "dog night" and she's adjusting all these spindly, purebred show dogs who live in the area. I think because of all of the inbreeding these dogs go through, they suffer from a disproportionate amount of hips and knee problems.
(So if you get a purebred dog, remember to take him to the chiropractor for regular adjustments! It really helps relieve their pain and joint discomfort.)
Anyway, I was watching the hunting dog category in the competition and saw an empty pedestal that had the word "whippet" printed on it, and I remember thinking, "Whippet, whippet, what's a whippet?" and having all of these strong thoughts about whippets....without even knowing what they were. My attention was suddenly drawn to them for some reason.
As the competition progressed, lovely dogs were brought out, including the whippet in question. Around the same time the whippet was being shown, I suddenly started thinking, "Where is this competition held? New York? And how far do people have to travel to bring their dogs to this show? Gee, I hope these dogs are okay travelling on planes. You always hear about dogs getting lost in the cargo section on planes or dying because of the lack of air pressure. I don't think I'd want to risk my dog's health by taking him on a plane."
Then I saw this article today. The whippet ran away at JFK airport and they're still looking for him!
So I was definitely having some sort of premonition....about whippets...problems at airports...and risks to show dogs attending big competitions.
I hope the poor whippet is quickly located and that he's okay. Maybe this whole thing is simply the Universe's way of smacking some sense into the dog's owner. "These competitions are about YOU, not about the dog. The dog couldn't care less. You're the one seeking the adulation of the masses. He'd rather stay home. Are you going to risk him running away again? Time to retire your whippet!"
Those are my thoughts, anyway.

PS Last year, I fell in love with Pete the Pekingese, who won in the Toy Group. His "real" name is Ch Yakee If Only (That's a big mouthful for a little dog.) I think he also won Best in Show. Here's his photo:

The Secret of Doing Without Doing by Dr. Robert Anthony
Robert Anthony is a prosperity teacher who helps people make the connection of how to BE in a specific energy (prosperity, health, etc.) before taking ACTION and doing things on the physical plane. If we wish to manifest something in our lives, the trick is to connect with BEING in the energy of that thing first. Then and only then will we be in the right state of mind to create the things we want instead of MISCREATING.
When we operate randomly and restlessly, rushing from one pointless and disconnected task to the next, we MISCREATE and actually REPEL the very state of being (health, wealth, etc.) that we so desperately want to achieve.
Here is a newsletter featuring a powerful article by Anthony. There is a short introduction, so just scroll down to the part where Anthony's article begins. Short, sweet, and to the point!

I love the artists at Eclectech.co.uk. They design all of these goofy animations with wacky animals.
They've created a love pants messenger for Valentine's Day. Just enter in your message for your sweetheart, enter their email, and your own individual love pants message will be on its way.
In case you have the sound turned down on your speakers, turn it up. The love pants messenger makes many funny randomized noises, from whistling provocatively to going "Hey, baby."

Alex Gordon on Understanding Negative Energy
Alex Gordon is a healer and writer who is very wise about the energies that we face on a day-to-day basis. We're constantly moving around in this psychic "soup" of emotions, with people projecting so much negativity at each other.
Gordon dissects this energy in a clear and intriguing way, reminding us to keep our own energy vibration high to maintain health and well-being on all levels.
He has many other enlightening and provocative articles at his website, which is called Nine Deadly Venoms.com. Nine Deadly Venoms refer to the psychic poisons that humanity must clear from its system before it can truly evolve. This information was given to him in an incredible series of interactions with the female archetypal being humanity calls Lilith. These interactions happened in shamanic journeys that took place in his dreams.
He's written a book called Nine Deadly Venoms that explains his amazing series of adventures with this energy. Great stuff. It's real "wake up call" material. I love it because it's from a shamanic perspective, which is all about taking full responsibility for all the energies that are present in your life....owning up to where you have harmed others, clearing out the ripples of those events, understanding ancestral ties and how they can limit us, and learning how to truly practice loving kindness at all times.
Have a look at his material - it's awesome!
Alex Gordon on Understanding Negative Energy
From his writing: "I of unknown name, unknown origin and indeterminable age, release myself from this and all ancestral trails, reject all parental and ancestral teachings, save those that are in total accord with universal teachings, and I declare myself to be a totally free child of the Universe."

Project Runway Addiction and the Cat of the Day Site
Forgive me if this blog entry lacks its usual zip. I'm still recovering from Nick Verreos being ousted from Bravo's Project Runway show. He's such a gifted designer that it's really a tragedy that he wasn't allowed to present a collection at Fashion Week in New York, which was an honor reserved for the top four designers chosen by the judges.
If you haven't seen Project Runway, it's this highly-addictive show where fashion designers compete. Each week they have a mini-runway show featuring their designs. They design around lots of interesting themes. One week they had to design a skating outfit for figure skater Sasha Cohen. Another week, the challenge was to design dresses made out of plant material (Spanish moss, anyone? I'll bet that's some scratchy stuff to wear.)
Nick was passed over in favor of the evil Santino, who is more dramatic and mean and weird. The producers probably reason that his antics make for "better" reality TV. So much for talent figuring into it! To sum up their contrasting personalities, Santino is the type of person who would scare you if you encountered him in alleyway and make you reach for your mace. Nick, on the other hand, is someone you'd instantly invite to a coffee shop so the two of you could gossip about men over a latte and scone.
Nick recently designed a gorgeous dress worn by Brenda Strong of Desperate Housewives at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. So good for him! It was this heavenly purple creation that got excellent reviews. It was mentioned in Us Weekly. Have a peek at Nick's blog: http://nickverrreos.blogspot.com/ It's shown in the February 2nd entry.
Okay, I'm going to share a site with you that helped cheer me up as I've been going through Nick withdrawal. It's the Cat of the Day site. Every day they post a photo of a Cat of the Day, and they also have a Dog of the Day and a Pet of the Day. You can submit your own photos of your pet to be considered for the animal of the day.
Go and see! And don't worry about me, I'll get over the Nick thing - sniff - eventually!

A Person Has to Be Receptive in Order to Be Healed
Consider this entry a bookmark of a subject I'd like to cover more in future articles. It's about healing. Why is it that some people heal, and others don't? What factors need to be present in order for someone to experience the best possible effects when they are receiving a healing session from someone?
These are important questions to address. I've certainly found in my own work that a) a healer shouldn't try to heal just anybody who comes in the door; b) a person's receptivity and willingness to experience wellness is a huge factor in healing and c) there are also many situations where you SHOULD NOT attempt to heal someone because you will be interfering with a condition they have manifested as part of their spiritual growth.
Yeah, it's unpleasant when somebody gets sick, but what if they've chosen that experience in order to grow? Take somebody's cancer away, and they might not go through the process of spiritual awakening, getting into prayer, and healing relationships with their family as their Higher Self has been prompting them to do through that particular illness.
Healing is a complex thing.
A friend of mine, gifted healer Cynthia Larson (author of the book Aura Advantage,) reminded me of an intriguing fact today regarding healing.
Former astronaut and IONS founder Edgar Mitchell wrote in his book The Way of the Explorer about a woman who was miraculously healed by a spiritual practioner whom she thought was of the same religion as hers. Later she discovered that the healing was conducted by a person she felt to be a "heathen," and this realization brought about a complete relapse in her health. So all of the healing effects she had experienced were suddenly reversed.
That is VERY significant. The patient needs to be in true spiritual and energetic alignment with the person who is attempting to heal them. If they have issues about the person's religion, or their energy, or whatever, the healing won't work.
Maybe this is why I do so few healing sessions these days. It's no longer appropriate for me to have a full-time healing practice because I'm coming at things from a very specific perspective, metaphysically, and it's not one that everybody shares.
People who resonate with my writing and my perspective on spirituality tend to be those who can explore multiple levels of thinking at once. For instance, I am a comedienne/astrologer/skeptic/pagan/gnostic Christian/shaman/psychic. Most people can't get their heads around ONE of those modalities, let alone all seven! So the people who experience great effects when I do remote healing work on them tend to be those who GET these ways of framing energy wisdom. Or they at least resonate with some of them.
However, I completely respect that not all people will resonate with who I am or what I do, and so it's best we not engage at that level of spiritual intimacy. Because there's going to be tension or a "clash" if we're not sympatico. And when you're attempting to bring healing someone, you can't be clashing.
This is also why it is hard to heal members of your own family because often they will have "issues" about what you are doing. What if, deep down, they think psychic abilities are bogus and that you're really off your rocker to be fooling about with energy? Even if there is a strong bond of love between you, this clash of perspective is bound to reduce the efficacy of the healing.
So healing is complicated.
Not all people SHOULD be healed, either. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is to simply offer unconditional love and support while the person navigates through the healing process in their own way.
That's a hard one, to NOT jump in there and interfere.
I wasn't so good at that at 20. I was trying to fix the whole world and carry the burden of everybody's problems on my own two shoulders.
Now, I still try to carry a big load, but I do it in high heels with a cocktail in hand. My approach is more whimsical, more contrarian, more laid back.
The archangel Michael told me one time that there is a HUGE difference between "can" and "should." I had been asking whether it was okay to do some healing work for a particular person, and in his ever-gentle yet clear way, he said, "You CAN heal this person. Whether you SHOULD is another story."
And this initiated a huge series of teachings from the higher realms about the art of healing...when not to intervene, when it's okay to step in, etc.
Sigh. I don't know if I'll ever have a chance to share even a small percentage of some of the stuff I've been privileged to learn. Time seems to be so compressed each week, and I'm spread thin across multiple projects. But stay tuned to this website, where more info will be surfacing, a piece at a time, in future articles, interviews, and books.

Psychokinesis (Mind Over Matter) Is Real
Some years ago when I was still living in Princeton, I became curious about Princeton University and their famous experiments on mind over matter. Always the intrepid explorer, I decided to seek out the researchers and ask them some questions about their work.
I walked over to the psychology building (which was across the street from my apartment.) I asked around. Nobody knew what I was talking about. "You know, the world famous experiments on mind over matter, psychokinesis, and remote viewing?" I prodded them.
"No, we've never heard of them."
Eventually I discovered that it was the engineering department which had pioneered this important work. And I arranged to talk to Roger Nelson, one of the key researchers. He kindly showed me around their lab on a warm June day and spent several hours telling me all about the work that was done there. I talked to him about my own work as a professional psychic and my interest in parapsychology.
He encouraged me to experiment with some of their random number generator machines, which are the tools they use to generate most of their anomalous statistical data. Basically, these machines emulate the toss of a coin, producing a perfectly random, "heads" or "tails" result. If someone touching the machine or interacting with the machine is able to concentrate on skewing the results - the example would be willing a coin to turn up more on the "heads" side than the "tails" side - and the machine responds in a non-random way, this proves that something anomalous is occurring.
Princeton's Engineering Anomalies Lab has accumulated huge amounts of this data, proving that human interaction or perhaps human consciousness is able to affect these random number generators and skew them so they produce non-random results. This would seem to hint at psychokineses, or mind over matter, not only being real, but being a scientifically proven fact.
I had fun playing with the machines there. Roger Nelson and his staff were very friendly and generous with their wisdom. They put me in the perfect state of mind to focus my attention in a loose yet concentrated way. If you push TOO hard and are too willful, that doesn't seem to do anything. A relaxed, open frame of mind seems to produce the most measureable results.
On some machines, I was able to almost effortlessly create non-random effects. On others, it was a lot harder. I seemed to do better at the tests that were more creative and "right-brained." For instance, in one test, you focused your attention on these chutes which wooden balls were dropped into, trying to make them pile up in bunches more towards the right or the left. A perfectly random reading would cause the balls to fall in roughly a sine wave (I believe it's a sine wave - a natural curvature that slopes up, then slopes down.) I found this really easy. I just mentally pushed and thought "Go left!" and more of the balls would end up on the left. Or I'd focus "Go right!" and they'd pile up in a greater density at the right.
There was also a computer which was generating a morphing image that was constantly in flux, where the pixels didn't form a perfectly clear image. My task was to focus on the changing pixels so that the tiger image showed in a clearer, more recognizable pattern. These pixels of the image were being generated by the random number generator machine so that they would be constantly switching back and forth between a tiger image and something else. I love kitties, so making the tiger show up was fun and easy for me. I'd just mentally go, "Here, kitty, kitty!" and the tiger image would flash on really clearly.
Other machines were more mechnical, dealing with strings of numbers, and since I've always found numbers to be pretty boring, I found that I wasn't very good at affecting those machines. I seemed to need shapes and colors and images to activate my psychokinesis talents.
Over the years I've found that psychic ability is strongest when you are interested in the subject matter you're tuning in on. I've always found sports to be the dullest thing in creation, and every year when people would ask me who was going to win the Super Bowl, I responded, "Who cares?" I never seemed to be able to predict the Super Bowl winners.
Oscar winners, though, those have been a lot easier. I'm an avid follower of the entertainment scene and find it simple to tune into celebrity happenings. I'm sometimes aided by psychic dreams. For instance, I dreamed about Jack Nicholson winning when he won the Best Actor award for As Good as It Gets, the movie he costarred in with Helen Hunt.
I haven't tuned in very much about this year's Oscars, but I have been getting a sense that George Clooney will have multiple wins and that this is his year to get that big critical recognition that has eluded him throughout his career. He's up for awards in three different categories, and my sense is that he will win in at least two
But ask me about football, and I'm afraid you're not going to be provided with any grand psychic insights! Can we say, Snoozeville?
Here's a short article about psychokinesis at an interesting alternative science site. It gives an overview of some of the research at Princeton.

From the New York Post:
"German Giant, one of the biggest bunnies on the face of the planet, tips the scales at 17 pounds — almost seven pounds more than the average rabbit of his breed.
"And he’s still growing, according to German breeder Hans Wagner (below), whose hair-raising angora hare was the highlight of a recent rabbit fair in Berlin.
"On all paws, German Giant, named for the world’s largest rabbit breed, stands 17 inches tall. And standing on his hind feet, he’s more than three feet tall." Big Bunny is Coming For You!

Happy Imbolc/Groundhog Day
Happy Groundhog Day! Believe it or not, this day is a metaphysically significant one. It's not just about rousting cute fuzzy creatures from their burrows to determine whether or not they see their shadow.
Imbolc is one of eight sacred days in the pagan calendar that mark times when the veil between dimensions is thinnest. You've probably heard of the major ones - the equinoxes and solstice times. But there are also gateway times between those dates when there are openings in the fabric of energy that links this dimension to others. Imbolc is one of those days.
This day is a powerful one for prayer, meditation, vision questing, psychic work, and all manner of spiritual activity. Coming so close to Sunday's new moon, the energy should be especially clear.
So try to make room in your day for turning within. You should find it easier to connect with your spiritual guides and Higher Self.
Here's an article from my archives which talks about the eight major gateway days that happen throughout the year.

Meet BC, the Barn Cat
BC is a barn cat who lives in the barn with four other cats. He's the oldest cat on the farm - 18 years old. Most of the time, the barn cats are perfectly content to remain in the barn, but once in a while, one of them comes over to the main house on a quest for some cuddling.
BC is short for "Barn Cat." It was originally a placeholder until a better name could be found for him, but it stuck.
Last Saturday BC expressed his desire to come into the house to receive some cuddling and coddling. We were happy to oblige.
BC has some sensitivity in his hips and back, so we were giving him some healing energy, and he seemed to appreciate it. I think that's what he came around for - he needed a little healing.
After a day of intense interaction with him here at the house, he returned to the barn and happily resumed his routine there.
BC is a sweet cat who loves laps, rubs, and hugs. It was nice to have him visit us.
