N'kisi, the Telepathic Gray Parrot

N'kisi is a gray parrot who is perhaps the most famous parrot in the world. This young bird is known to have a vocabulary of over 700 words. Rupert Sheldrake, a cutting-edge consciousness researcher who has done a lot of experiments involving animals and their telepathic abilities, has performed some groundbreaking research with N'kisi which would seem to indicate that this intelligent parrot is highly attuned to his owner's thoughts.

He has many other wonderful articles about psychic phenomena, too, and he is the author of many innovative and inspiring books. There's a New Moon Sunday Plus Start of Chinese New Year (The Dog)

As I mentioned the other day, there's a bouncy new moon in cheery Aquarius Sunday morning, the 29th, at 9:15 am Eastern Time here in the U.S. The playful and progressive energies of this new moon will be felt for about three days after the new moon, so spend some time in meditation or prayer tapping into these good vibes.

You also might enjoy writing yourself a new moon abundance check. This is a fun ritual to help you connect with the energies of prosperity. By making yourself a check for an amount that feels abundant to you, you're going through the process of making it physically "real" (because whenever we write a check for something, it represents very real money flow to us.) So doing so with a spiritual intention to attract abundance into your life can be very powerful.

I don't always write myself a physical check. Sometimes I simply visualize the money coming in. But taking some time to set intentions and to become more aware of the energies you are bringing into your life is very important, whether you wish to improve your health, your relationships, or your finances.

This new moon day is also the start of the Chinese New Year. It will be the Chinese Year of the Dog.

New Moon in Aquarius this Sunday the 29th

I wanted to point out that there will be a new moon in Air sign Aquarius this Sunday the 29th. It happens at 9:15 pm Eastern Time here in the U.S.

The energy of the new moon is very healing and creative. It's a great day for releasing negative energies and for experiencing a "personal New Year."

USA Weekend on New Planet Xena and Astrology

I don't know which shocked me more - the fact that USA Weekend recently published a piece in which astrology was mentioned, or the fact that they didn't cover the subject in a completely ignorant and atrocious way (which is what usually happens when a mainstream media source mentions astrology.)

Anyway, this piece about the new planet, Xena, and its potential impact on the science of astrology was kinda interesting.

Xena is the name of the new planet that was found at the outer reaches of our solar system last year. Its distance from Earth means that it will never have a strong impact on us, because its magnetic field doesn't affect us very much, so conventional astrology won't change with the addition of this extra planet. But it's cool, anyhow.

Steve Gamble Writes About the Problems with Reiki

True Origins of Reiki

Again, it's not "Reiki" itself that is the problem. Reiki is just another word for Prana or Life Force or Eternal Spirit. It's how healers channel that energy through the use of incompatible symbols that can be the problem.

Whenever you try to limit the flow of healing energy coming into a patient, through symbols or words or whatever, instead of allowing that greater wisdom to be the operating energy, people can sense that something isn't right. So their systems may react adversely and they can feel "allergic" to the symbols used in the healing.

In any form of healing work, if you can get beyond symbols and get to a place of pure love transmission, then everything will be fine. But if you limit the expression or channeling of the Divine with your own "stuff" (symbols, religious beliefs, chants, etc.) then some people are going to respond negatively if they are not aligned with that symbol/belief system/etc.

This is fact. It is not opinion. It should be part of Healing 101, but for some reason, this wisdom is rarely shared by ANY metaphysical teacher. I don't know why.

It's another busy day here, so I'm declaring it a Cat Day.

This is a photo of Roman, the orange ball of fluff who enjoys being carried over my shoulder like a purse. He's a sweet-tempered, cuddly critter. He's looking very serious here, but usually the most he has on his mind is figuring out which warm spot he should curl up in next.

I noticed in the news today that a whale has been swimming down the Thames and went by Parliament.  I hope he's just having a look around and doesn't end up beaching himself. Perhaps he's studying up on Tony Blair's foreign policy.

We had a similar thing happen here on the Delaware River last April. A lovely Beluga whale came down the River and had a ton of fun dining on local shad, which were in season. Eventually, he went back to sea.

At the time I wrote this small piece about whales and whale consciousness.

Whales and the entire cetacen family are really, really, cool. The times when I've been able to make contact with them and learn about them have humbled me beyond belief.  They're ancient, wise souls with an incredible amount of love and joy as a core vibration.

Shamanic Time vs. Linear Time

One of the really cool things that's going on right now is that people are starting to experience time differently. Time is "collapsing," or, at least, the way in which we perceive the progression of time is going through a big change.

Instead of navigating through life going from Point A to Point B and measuring our journey by units of time, we're moving into measuring things by experiences. We're learning to measure life in moments, not counting them according to some externally-imposed linear calendar.

Another way of framing this new way of experiencing time is to call it holographic time or transdimensional time.

I found a cool article about holographic time which explains it really well. Have a read and see if this resonates with how YOU'VE been experiencing time lately. If you feel that time is compressed, and that every time you try to adhere to an external, linear calendar, you just feel claustrophobic....and if you live "off the clock," you find that you experience much greater flow, get everything done, feel better....then you might find it interesting to know that there are words to describe what you're perceiving.

You're making the switch to living on shamanic time -- i.e. things get done exactly when they need to, not a moment before, not a moment later. This is how our species originally experienced the flow of time. It was experienced in an organic way, without externally imposed deadlines. Our modern way of experiencing time is a Luciferian insert or overlay that was inserted into our society to move us out of being in the present and knock us off our spiritual center.

As we return to living on shamanic time, we can open up to greater health, happiness, and abundance. So it's vitally important to understand the difference between holographic/shamanic time and living in "tick-tock," as author Stuart Wilde calls the other type of time.

I don't know anything about the writer who channelled this article on holographic time, but the information seems right on to me.

Lipstick Mystic Radio Appearance Now Available for Download

You may remember that a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to appear on an Internet radio show, What a World Radio hosted by Dr. Nevyn Campanella. I had a great, no-holds-barred discussion with this lively and intelligent host.

The audio clip has now been archived, and you can download it and listen to it on your computer. Right now it's only available in WMA format, but it also be available in mp3 format in the weeks to come. You should be able to listen to the WMA format on most computers, though.

I talked about several subjects on the air: a) the crisis facing the holistic health community today; b)the importance of spiritual street smarts and how to be a spiritual warrior; c) how you can clear your body and energy field of electromagnetic pollution; d) two energy healing concepts that come from the shamanistic traditions - soul retrieval and decording. I tried to explain everything in a practical, user-friendly way, and I think it came out pretty well.

So, you can listen to it if you want to anytime.

Scroll down to the December 18th show where you'll see Lipstick Mystic listed at the far right. That was the show I was on. If you then click on the link that says WMA format, this will immediately start downloading the audio file to your computer, and then your media player will open up (whatever software is installed on your computer which allows you to listen to audio. Some people have RealPlayer installed, others have other software. This would have come with your computer when you first got it.)

After the download, which takes about a minute, you should be able to click on the audio file in your audio player - usually you would click on the "forward" button, the "stop" button or the "back" button very much as if you were playing a tape cassette player.

The track starts out with some orchestral music as filler - the show was running a little late that night so the clip doesn't start right away. Then Nevyn comes in and does an introduction. He does some news clips and also another guest briefly comes on, a woman, to talk about recent earthquake activity. I come in about 9 to 10 minutes into the show and I'm on for maybe 40 minutes.

I covered a lot of esoteric territory, stuff I work with in my life, but I tried to explain things in a clear way. If you're able to understand the concepts without any background in shamanism or metaphysics, then I'll figure that I succeeded in bringing this information across well!

Let me know what you think. I'm considering doing a once a month spot with them starting in the spring, or maybe even my own show. The neat thing about Internet radio is that people can tune in all over the world....or they can listen to the archived clip later on. So a lot of people on my website's mailing list are from Australia, Europe, etc., and they were able to tune in to listen from their location, which is cool.

Since we're all connected by what I like to call a "cosmic Internet," that soul to soul link, it's nice when technology can imitate that. Net radio is very exciting since it bypasses geography.
