New Lipstick Mystic™ Love Forecast Column Available Through KRTDirect
Yesterday my new Lipstick Mystic™ Love Forecast went live on the Knight Ridder Tribune newswire. This romantic horoscope column will be appearing weekly as a part of a special love and relationships package which will be running in various papers across the world. I'm told it has already been picked up by seven papers, although I don't know which ones. So look in your papers - probably on Thursdays, although papers can run it any day of the week - and see if there is a new insert included that's all about love and relationships.
The package features cool pieces on love, sex, and dating. My Lipstick Mystic™ Love Forecast talks about troubleshooting in relationships.
Meanwhile, speaking of entertainment. . .if you've never heard about all the bizarre state laws that are still on the books, you have to go to Dumblaws.com. This page I'm sending you to lists all the bizarre state laws in Massachusetts, but you can check out all of the states.
Did you know you can't ride with a gorilla in the backseat of your car in Massachusetts? And it's illegal for women to be on top during sex?
Hmm. It's a good thing I live in New Jersey.

New Moon Today in Fire Sign Aries
There was a new moon this morning at 5:15 am Eastern Standard Time here in the US. Pluto also went retrograde in the sign of Sagittarius this morning at 7:40 am.
The new moon energies carry with them a feeling of fresh starts, encouraging us to push ahead with new things. But Pluto going retrograde also means that we should consider patterns from the past that we need to release. Pluto retrograde is an introspective influence, prompting us to shift out of unhealthy habits, negative attitudes, and thoughtforms that no longer serve us.
So while you are getting ready to move ahead with cool new projects, thoughts, or relationships, you'll probably be thinking, "How can I succeed this time and overcome errors I've made in the past as I approached these same goals?"
In short, it's time to do things RIGHT. Reflect on the past a bit and examine old patterns and memories, but don't get mired in them.
The new moon energies are so bouncy and positive that those ghosts from the past will no longer have you in their grasp. You'll be able to banish them gently and send them back to the past where they belong.
This is also a good time to write yourself a new moon abundance check and to engage in power prayer, meditation, and spiritual ritual.
You can check out my past series of articles about new moon checks if you scroll down my home page.
Happy new moon to you!

Happy Spring Equinox/Spiritual New Year!
The vernal equinox happened today at 1:35 pm EST. Happy New Year to you!
You see, the spring equinox is the time of the TRUE new year, when the energies of spiritual renewal, cleansing, and purification are strongest on the Earth. (If you live in the Southern Hemisphere, though, this time will be reversed - so your spiritual new year happens at the autumnal equinox in your part of the world.)
You'll notice a sense of lightening, a feeling of hope, and an increased feeling of optimism as you attune yourself to the wonderful energies of this time.
The sun has moved into Fire sign Aries, and the sun will continue its journey through this passionate and determined sign over the next four weeks. It's a great time for "spring cleaning" and for clearing out physical and emotional cobwebs. Sometimes we need to clear out some debris - either clutter in our living space or mental clutter - before healing energies can fully manifest. So if you feel inspired to plough through the garbage in your own life, this will help you to align with lighter and more abundant vibes after you're through with this cleansing process.
Today is also a great day for setting intentions and engaging in power prayer. What do you want to accomplish over the next 12 months? What energies, situations, and people do you want to draw into your life? Remember - what you focus on increases, so give attention to what you DO want (abundance, health, well-being) instead of what you DON'T want.
The energies of the equinox will be strong throughout the week, so use this time for inviting Spirit into your life in a bigger, more magical and wondrous way.

More About Why Reiki May Be Bad for You and How to Cut Those Reiki Ties
Thanks to the many readers who are sharing their own questions, experiences, and concerns about Reiki as a healing modality. As always, you should trust your own spiritual compass about this and learn to discern for yourself. My opinions and experiences may not resonate with yours. But it does seem like there is a fair amount of criticism about Reiki, and I've written a follow-up article in response to some of these comments.

Molly Gordon on the Spiritual Path of Self-Employment
Holisticpro.com is a paid membership site that provides professionals in the holistic health field with business tips, networking, and other useful stuff. They have some great free articles at their home page.
I liked this piece written by Molly Gordon. It's about how energy, intention, and self-worth affect your success when you are self-employed.
If you've ever dreamt of becoming self-employed, or if, like me, you already are self-employed, this article will give you some excellent points to ponder.

The Ghost Tree
**Editor's Note: I shared this story at the Montalk forum today and thought you might enjoy it, too.
About trees appearing and disappearing....a few years ago my honey was thinking about his father who passed away some years back. The two of us were having this very metaphysical discussion about the man and talking about how he was an old soul trapped in a modest lifetime with next to no opportunities to activate his higher self, and how this was sad. And we were hoping that in the "beyond" he's having a better time of it.
About the same time we were saying this, we saw a big beech tree, perhaps 100 or more years old, in the woods at the edge of this property. We just happened to be facing it so that we saw that something had been carved in the soft outer bark of the beech. What was carved was four numbers - the exact year that my honey's dad was born. So that was one of those "shiver" moments.
Later, when we've gone back to try to find this tree, it's NOT THERE. And this is in a little stretch of woods at the edge of our property where we walk regularly, and this tree had suddenly appeared for that moment and we've never found it again!
We've even asked the prior owner of this property about it. His family lived here for 13 generations and he's a wonderful resource for all of the history of the area. He has no knowledge about such a tree, yet he can tell you about every other single tree in the woods and its age, where the kids played and carved things into them, the fire that some teenagers once set in the woods years ago, and on and on.
So we like to think of that beech tree as "the ghost tree." It appeared when it needed to, then went on its way. It's like living in Avalon where we are. Things are very multi-dimensional and there are lots of vortexes to other dimensions. Wildlife will often pop in and out and it's very exciting watching to see who will turn up. I'd have to say the hawks are the most attuned to human psychic energy - I'll just THINK about one and one will suddenly fly overhead. This happens a lot at the solstices and equinox times. Oh, and we've seen those weird little anomalous jackal dog things that are often written about in the cryptozoology forums. Seen those several times around the area. They are VERY strange and carry a low vibration, quite mutant-like, not dog, not fox, sort of a canine plus something else.
Anyway, I just wanted to share the tree thing. Beeches are very spiritual trees that network spiritually around the whole world in one interlocked grid, kind of like the crystal kingdom. Great trees, very wise. So you can talk to a beech tree here and ask it how things are going in London or halfway around the world.

How Can I Find the Truth?
I received a sweet note from someone today asking how someone can find spiritual truth and the best path.
Her letter inspired me to start thinking. What is truth, anyway?
Read my ruminations.

Fabulous Lakshmi Fragrances and More from RapunzelGifts.com
I received my order of Lakshmi goodies this week from RapunzelGifts.com, and ooooh, are they lovely!
I ordered the roll-on fragrance, and it smells even more delicate and beautiful than the fragrance stick I had originally sampled. The Lakshmi scent is also available in a soap, and the soap has a wonderful, fresh tone to it, invigorating and cleansing on all levels. Now I'm going to have to get the bath salts, too! I want to absorb this wonderful scent in as many forms as possible.
Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of abundance, and the Lakshmi products have a very positive and uplifting energy. If you're in need of an early spring pick-me-up, I highly recommend this particular scent in RapunzelGifts' Goddess line of products. Just a dab of the fragrance at the wrists will keep your mood bouncy and light on the stormiest of days!
And gentlemen, if you're looking for a special gift for the lady in your life, the Goddess line is a fabulous choice. Buy her the matching bath salts, soap, and fragrance to provide her with an aromatherapy lift. She'll love you for it! These scents are subtle, so they don't overpower you like straight essential oils do. These formulations are truly magical.

Ending Spiritual Contracts
This is a thread at Montalk.net about ending spiritual contracts. Did you know that marriage vows, and any pledge you've made before God in this or past lives, are binding? Meaning that these vows leave real energy effects in your auric field that last through multiple lifetimes and can restrict or affect your ability to experience new relationships in a happy, flowing way. I add my two cents about this in this fascinating new thread at Montalk.net

Interesting Discussion Threads at Montalk.net
I participate in periodic discussions at the wonderful metaphysical site, http://www.montalk.net.
Today there is some interesting conversation going on in two threads I've posted to. One is about handling the effects of Mercury retrograde, plus the discussion also provides some tips on being invisible (yes, this is something you can learn!)
Discussion about Mercury Retrograde
And the other is more a dialogue about spiritual sovereignty and how not to give your power away to any one belief system or framework for understanding metaphysical stuff.

The Perfect Little Black Dress

We women are destined to a lifelong quest to find the perfect little black dress. Recently I needed to find a nice formal outfit to wear to two events - a regional hunt ball and the Philadelphia Flower Show. I found an evening gown which I wore to the hunt ball, but I really fell in love with this cute cocktail dress that was classic and simple.
I wore this to the Flower Show last night. My honey was distinguished as always in his nice tux, and I felt comfy yet chic in this cute dress. I can't wait to wear it to more events.
You can't see it in the photo, but my shoes have these neat gold flower buckles on them. Sort of retro and fun.
We enjoyed a long evening of cocktails and hors d'euvres and gazing at gorgeous flower displays. If you've never been to the Flower Show, it's this huge tradition here in the NorthEast. We met people who had been going to it for twenty years. It's sort of "the event" for the year among high society Philadephia types.
We're not exactly high society types, but we sure had fun.

Project Runway Fans - "Where the Hell is My Chiffon?" Gear Available
I'm a Project Runway addict. One of the catchphrases that has evolved over the course of this Bravo TV show is "Where the hell is my chiffon?" Nobody knows how the phrase got started. It may have been Jay McCarroll, the winner of the first season of Project Runway, who originally used it in the first edition of the show.
Now season two of Project Runway is almost at a close, and we Runway addicts are going to be going into serious withdrawal pretty soon. Sniff! So to keep the magic going, I've created a new "Where the hell is my chiffon?" logo and added it to gear in my shop.
You can now order mousepads, sweatshirts, women's tees and more with this logo.
Prove how "in" you are with all that is Project Runway by purchasing your gear today! Click on the "Gear" button in the left menu or use the link below:

How to Tell if You're in a Martial Arts (or Other) Cult
This is a very funny article that gives you the straight scoop on how to tell if you're in a martial arts cult. The basic ideas can be applied to ANY form of cult, though, so this info can be useful when trying to discern the energy of any spiritual teacher.
