Link to Lipstick Mystic® in Today's Newark Star Ledger

The article is called Life with the Dead by Jennifer Weiss and it appears in today's Newark Star Ledger in the Home and Garden section. It talks about a haunted north New Jersey home I visited some years ago while doing a ghostbusting segment for the TV show Sightings. We were snowed in that weekend so I had a lot of time to examine the property, which was plagued by multiple haunts plus some dark forces.

Lipstick Mystic® in the Newark Star Ledger

If you live in New Jersey, you might want to pick up a copy of the Newark Star Ledger tomorrow, Thursday the 25th. I was interviewed for what I hope will be a lengthy piece in their Home and Garden section, talking about work I did on a haunted New Jersey home many years ago. I gave the reporter tons of info about how to clear out ghosts, the nature of hauntings, and how to tell if your home might have a ghost. Let's hope some of this info makes it into the article!

One Woman's Experiences Using Larry Crane's Release Technique as Taught to Larry by Lester Levenson

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my Lipstick Mystic readers!  Things have continued to be busy here as I recently did a redesign of my new affirmations website, http://www.free-daily-affirmation.com. From here on out both that site and this one will be updated more frequently. I have some goodies in the works for you, so stay tuned here and also to my free daily affirmation site in the next two weeks.

In the meantime, I continue to receive great feedback from people who have been learning Larry Crane's Release Technique. If you're doing any sort of affirmations work, you'll often hit a "resistance point" where you need to stop and release negative emotions. The Release Technique is taught in The Abundance Course by Larry Crane. Larry was a student of a brilliant energy researcher and pioneer named Lester Levenson who figured out a way to release trapped negative emotions and showed people how to start manifesting miracles in their everyday lives.

French Young People Solve the Homeless Problem

I think this is an amazing thing. I blogged about this at my affirmations blog, but in case you missed it, I'm posting the link here today.

A lot of young people in France are working together to solve the homeless problem.  Instead of waiting around for laws or legislation to be passed, they're just.....fixing the problem.

Their story can be inspiration to us all to realize the incredible power of grassroots movements. We CAN create a better world, one person at a time.

Chicago's Redeye Publishes My Astrology Profile of Zodiac Star Jake Gyllenhaal

Each Monday the Chicago Tribune's Redeye arts newspaper runs my Romance Planet weekly horoscopes. But last week my editor had a special project for me. It seems that their scheduled interview with Jake Gyllenhaal didn't work out, but they still wanted to run something on Jake to coincide with the premiere of his hot new thriller, Zodiac.

So I created an astrology profile for Jake, talking about what is going on with his career, family, and love life, and describing some of the cool things in his birthchart.

Lester Levenson's Release Technique Plus Yin and Yang Cats

A lot of self-help gurus who talk about positive thinking forget to remind you that it's likely you are going to have to do some digging and release some past trauma and negative emotions before you'll have real success with the Law of Attraction.

In recent months I've been working with a simple, powerful system for releasing negative emotions. It's called The Release Technique, and it's taught by Larry Crane in a wonderful audio series.

Did You Know There are Two Versions of The Secret?

There are. One features author and mystical teacher Esther Hicks of Abraham fame, but the one currently making the rounds has her material edited out. A lot of people feel the original version with Esther in it was the best, and I agree with this.

Law of attraction teacher and author Linda Goodspeed Dodds, who has written a fabulous book called The Impossible Life: A Guide to Finally Living Your Dreams, gives her own thoughts on the two versions at her journal:

A Lion Hugs His Rescuer - Video

You have to go see this short video clip at YouTube. A wonderful Colombian woman named Ana Julia Torres has an animal sanctuary where she looks after numerous neglected and maimed animals.

Six years ago she rescued a lion name Jupiter from a life of abuse and malnutrition in a traveling circus. She has nursed him back to health at her Villa Lorena shelter for injured and mistreated animals.

In this short video, Jupiter leans up to give his friend Ana a really big pusscat hug.  It's an extraordinary thing to watch.

News reports have said that Ana runs this shelter all on her own modest teacher's salary. I hope someone posts some info soon about how people can donate money to her to help her with her wonderful work. She's looking after some 800 animals, including burned peacocks and limbless flamencos and even blind monkeys and mutilated elephants.

If anybody deserves a big hug, it's Ana Julia Torres!

Photo of an Angel That Appeared During the Harmonic Convergence

This is an incredible photo of an angelic  image that appeared as an overlay in a TV set belonging to some people living in the Mt. Shasta area of California during the famous harmonic convergence of planets that happened some years ago.

Stuart Wilde on the Value of Tenderness

Stuart Wilde is one of my favorite contrarian mystic teachers. Part psychic, part healer, and part spiritual warrior, he somehow manages to incorporate a dry Brit sense of humor along with a spot on assessment of how metaphysical energy operates. His worldview, while different from mine, has many complimentary points. We are both energy sensitives who can perceive predatorial presences which have, unfortunately, infested this beautiful world that we live in. These energies are unbalanced and nasty and cause all manner of illness, from physical problems to emotional and spiritual disorders.

He posts periodic essays at his site, and I like this one he posted yesterday. With all the negative things going on in the world, it's important to realize how powerful we are, how safe we can be, and how miraculous our lives can become if only we remain centered in energies like kindness and tenderness.

New Moon on Monday and Miscellaneous Goodies Roundup

Several notable speakers who were featured in the hit underground movie The Secret appeared on Larry King last night. It was part two of his power of positive thinking series. If you missed it, read the transcript of the show here.

I also wanted to mention that there's a new moon on Monday. This will be happening in the water sign of Scorpio. The new moon happens at exactly 5:18pm Eastern Time here in the US.  The three days before and after a new moon are a great time to meditate, pray, and access energies of spiritual clarity. If you've been working on affirmations and positive thinking, this is a super period for setting intentions and visualizing success so you can set those energies in motion throughout the coming 30 day moon cycle.

Part two of Larry King's Power of Positive Thinking Series airs this Thursday, November 16th at 9pm and Midnight Eastern Time on CNN.  This time he has on motivational gurus Jayne Payne, Dr. George Pratt, James Canfield of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, James Ray, and marketing powerhouse Joe Vitale.

Excellent Article About Healing at WilliamJames.com

I'd never heard about William James, the father of modern psychology, before. There is an online bookstore devoted to him and his work which has many wonderful links about healing and consciousness.

I found this really interesting article there. It's an overview of healing modalities from many different cultures and practitioners from around the world. Towards the end it briefly describes pranic healing, which is one of the techniques I use. (By the way, pranic healing works fabulously to cure everything from migraines to tummyaches to burns - and much more.)

Larry King and the Power of Positive Thinking

Last night Larry King had a fabulous panel of guests on his show. You've probably heard some of their names before.

Here are some short descriptions of the guests, taken from the CNN website:

"Bob Proctor, who went from high school dropout to best-selling author. He spent the last 40 years coaching individuals on how to attain their life ambitions.

John Assaraf, as a teenager John risked the potentially fatal consequences of a turbulent lifestyle which could have easily landed him in jail or the morgue. But today, he's written a New York Times best-selling book and built four multimillion dollar companies.

Michael Beckwith, founder and spiritual director of the Agape International Spiritual Center, which celebrates its 20 anniversary this fall.

John DeMartini, the founder of the DeMartini Foundation and the Concourse of Wisdom School, one of the world's largest personal and professional development organizations.

And, JZ Knight, CEO of JZ K. Inc. and author of her autobiography 'A State of Mind.'"  (Note: you might know JZ as the controversial channeler of Ramtha.)

Some of these folks have been featured in inspiring movies like The Secret and the What the Bleep Movie. Others have been major figures in other media related to human potential, giving speeches to packed houses.

The theme last night was the power of positive thinking, and each panelist shared some great insights.

Halloween - A Powerful Time for Meditation and Prayer

Halloween is one of eight "energy doorway" days that happen throughout the year. The major days are the solstices and the equinoxes, but Halloween acts as a "mini-solstice" period when the veil between dimensions is still very, very thin.

While negative energies can be accessed during this time, so can positive ones. With a little effort, you can bring in wonderful healing energies from the higher planes at Halloween, using these to motivate and inspire you.

My New Site is Up (Soft Launch) - Welcome to The Purse Pooch!

I'm excited to share the "soft launch" of my new website, The Purse Pooch!  This is a hybrid blog/website that features purses, pup culture, and shopping. If you like the sassy, silly commentary of some of my Project Runway recaps - or if you like doggies - or if you like pop cultural silliness, then this is the site for you!

There are some things that haven't been added yet in all the categories, but there are already a fair amount of entries you can peek at.  Today the Purse Pooch talks about his Mistress and her useless eater roommate, Ian.  Plus he gives advice on how to break out of a bad mood.

Over the next week or so the rest of the site will be live, but I wanted to share the main blog with you now! The Purse Pooch will be updated throughout each week. On Thursdays, pet horoscopes are posted. You can read the ones for this week, already posted at the site.

Florida Man Pays $7,500 for a Psychic Cleansing

...But all the psychic did was cleanse his wallet of money.

Unfortunately, such stories are all too common. When most people hear the word "psychic" they usually think about gypsy fortuneteller types who move in to a town, gain trust amongst the locals who like to get their cards read, and then gradually up the ante, asking for thousands of dollars per reading.

The gypsy scam artist will tell the person that their aura is black or that they are under a curse and that if they don't give them tons of money, their suffering will get worse. 

A psychic reading should never cost you more than a session with a gifted therapist. Many therapists operate on a sliding scale if their clients are on a tight budget. The lowest you can expect to pay for a talented therapist is about $50 per hour. The best ones who are really busy often charge upwards of $200.  A psychic reading should be somewhere between the two.

There is only one psychic hotline service that I can truly recommend.  It's called Astrocenter.com.  They sell astrology reports that are really cool, based on your unique birth data, for around $19.99. But if you also would like a psychic or an astrologer to give you some individual guidance, they have different experts on call throughout the week who do readings by phone, by email, and by instant message.  I can vouch for this company because I worked for them for two years and know the people involved. They have great integrity and are genuine in their desire to get metaphysical information out to the masses. I wrote daily horoscopes for men for them for two years, as well as astrology articles and other cool stuff.

Check Out My New Blog About Affirmations and Visualizations

Sometimes when I write an article here, the search engines don't pick it up or index it. So what that means is that I might have written a very topic-specific article about say, striped yellow cats, and there could be thousands of people searching online for an article about striped yellow cats, and they'd never find the article I've written here.

Search engine optimization is getting to be a very weird, very arcane science. As much as I feel I've learned about it in the past two years, there's a lot more I'm still discovering.

What it comes down to is that sometimes a blog that has an RSS feed and is just designed around one narrow "niche" topic will often rank better in the search engines for that topic than a more general site like mine. Here at LipstickMystic I cover a lot of ground - from healing to astrology to, well, cats. Just not the yellow striped kind. My cats have black and white or orange and white stripes.

Anyhoo, I've started a new blog that is just going to be about affirmations and visualizations. Since commenting is enabled, you're welcome to offer feedback to my articles and post experiences or thoughts of your own. 

I will be regularly updating the blog, so you might want to bookmark it. Or you can just check here where I will probably give you the heads up if I've made a new post.

Autumnal Equinox Happens at Midnight Tonight

Happy autumnal equinox to you !  Well, actually, the exact hour of the equinox doesn't happen until 12:03am, just after midnight, Eastern Time.  But the energy of this powerful time will be strong throughout today and the next few days.

Equinoxes and solstices are "power times" when the veil between etheric dimensions is thinnest. It's an excellent time to connect with your higher guidance, meditate, pray, and tap into the power of the soul.

You'll find psychic work easier at this time and all forms of healing will be easier, too. Dreams might take on a more prophetic and revealing tone, so try to keep a journal nearby to jot down your dreams upon awakening over the next few days. Messages from the subconscious may be coming through, so you'll want to pay attention.

Karl Rove Has Hilary's Spirit Exorcised from the West Wing

A new book claims that Karl Rove had three clergymen perform a religious ceremony to exorcise Hilary Clinton's energy from the West Wing when he moved into his office there.  A former University professor who worked with Rove to entice Roman Catholic voters says he was there when it happened, and it was an actual liturgical ceremony.
