Q: Thanks for sitting down to talk with us today, Lee.
A: My pleasure Jennifer.
Q: You and Sam Heyer have written a fascinating "think outside the box" book called Business Sexcess. We all have sex on the brain -- but I think yours may be the first book I've seen that combines business and sex in one place! I'll bet the combination is making people's heads spin. What first inspired you to put these two ideas together?
A: Do you want the truth or the PC version? I’m not going to tell you what I was doing when I came up with the idea (chuckles) but I came up with the line “Sex Sells -- Do You Want Your Business To Do The Same?” That was the idea that brought the two together, and then when I truly started thinking about the similarities between business and sex, the innuendo-driven chapter titles just started popping into my head faster than I could write them down.
Q: Your book certainly has lots of saucy chapter titles like "Sexcessories," "Tantric Profit," and "Not Tonight Honey." But once you actually read the chapters, you realize that you're not really talking about sex at all. It's more that you're helping people see how the same mental wiring we have about sex can be successfully applied to business. I think the way you've laid this out, so to speak, is brilliant.
A: Thank you, I resemble that remark!
Q: What have been the reactions when you've presented this material to an audience? I'm picturing a bored group of businesspeople who suddenly perk up after you've brought up your PowerPoint presentation. Who wouldn't pay attention when somebody starts talking about "Digital Penetration" or "Corporate Adultery?" Talk about your conversation starter!
A: People laugh hysterically, and then when the tears stop flowing, they seem a little stunned. . .like, what’s next? We have been so suppressed in the business world for so long, I have found when I speak about the book people are really relieved it's not porn, and then they're receptive to the idea that it's all business. I think what shocks people the most is that my speeches are 5% sex and 95% powerful business content. You’ll never forget that 5% though…(laughing!)
Q: I think the material you present in the book is very powerful. I found tons of "action points" in it which have helped me eliminate wasted time and energy with my own business expansion.
A: Wow. . .I’m honored. . .Another Business Sexcess convert!
Q: You've designed this as a very practical book, despite its sassy presentation. Were you one of those serious business owners or MBA's who decided to shake things up a bit? Because it's obvious from the book that you bring a lot of business savvy to the table, it's not just theory.
A: Who, me? Shake things up? Never! (Sarcastically) As for the MBA -- No, I have plenty of other initials. . .that mean nothing to most people, unless you are in the financial industry. It's funny but I’ve met PHD Taxi Drivers and high school drop out millionaires. Don’t get me wrong, education is a necessity these days. . .I’m not really answering your question, am I?
Q: So your book isn't just theory?
A: No, a lot of Business Sexcess is based on Sam’s (coauthor) and my successes and wins in business, and in my career(s). I have also studied other successful people for as long as I can remember. Folks like Napoleon Hill, Zig Ziglar, and yes. . .even Tony Robbins graced the pages of BS!
Q: I work in the metaphysical community, and people are always asking me for advice about how to manifest things -- whether it be a better relationship, a dream job, or whatever. And although there are a lot of fluffy self-help gurus out there who go on and on about the power of positive thinking, I find a lot of this teaching to be lacking. The piece that is missing is the part about applying passion. Our bodies are hard-wired for sex, and this is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, it's by owning this and learning how to channel our drive that we combine the two most powerful forces in the universe: passion plus intent. And that's how creation works. Do you find this to be true? I know that, for me, if I'm not '"turned on" by something, I just never accomplish it.
A: If you aren't turned on you will eventually tune out. If you really think about being hardwired, sex is so essential to society that without it we wouldn't exist. It’s in our genes (laughs). There is a ton of power and passion harnessed in our desires. Yes, and if you tie that it in with intent, with a purpose, and focus that energy and passion outward. . .the sky's the limit. I would suggest that people read the Chapter 23 on Sexcess Transmutation. . .hint, hint!
Q: I hope you won't take this as an insult, because many business writers like to distance themselves from the airy-fairy world of the self-help industry, but I really found your book to be inspirational. I've been rereading various chapters to sort of cheer me on as I strategize for 2006. I wanted to compliment you. You have a real ability to motivate and inspire with your writing.
A: Thanks for the compliment, Jennifer. I think you made me blush. . .but to comment on what you said earlier, the airy-fairy self help -- is that what you called it? -- is not an insult. I would be very happy if one day I found Business Sexcess under the self-help category.
Q: As we finish things up, tell us the main things you'd like readers to take away from your book. What are the key tools you hope to provide them with?
A: Number one is that I want readers to laugh more, then I've love for them to realize that there are certain activities essential to success in business and their career. I know readers will walk away with ideas and tools to save time, work smarter (not harder,) make more money, and ultimately increase their network of business contacts around the globe. I think the number one tool we give for people that buy our book is access to our BS Forum, where tons of people gather every day online to share ideas, frustrations, find business partners, and become a huge success. Oh. . .and did I say laugh more?
Q: I know that Business Sexcess is going to be a huge success, and you and Sam will experience many wonderful opportunities because of it. Just don't become a Tony Robbins on us, okay? Because then I think you'll have to buy your own island near Fuji and make people walk over hot coals at your workshops.
A: No worries there, Jennifer. . .Can you imagine someone going to a Business Sexcess workshop and walking on coals? No way! We talk about pleasure and pain, just like Tony does, but we’ll stick to people laughing while they learn. . . not burn!
Q: Well, I can definitely say this: Reading your book is a helluva lot more fun than walking over hot coals! Buy it today, folks. Whether you need inspiration as you work on getting your own business started or are simply interested in improving the way you approach your career, Business Sexcess is a great guide. Thanks for chatting with us, Lee.
A: My pleasure, Jennifer!

Along with US-based Internet Marketing expert Sam Heyer, they have written the un-boring business book, and recorded the Audio E-Book guide entitled Business Sexcess. This is probably the most important news ever published for business people who are, "Fed up, tired, bored rigid, bored stiff, and plain old bored to death" of reading the average business success guide. Who doesn’t like to read about sex?
Note: Business Sexcess was originally sold as an eBook but the authors are planning to bring it out now as a physical book. You can visit Lee Raito's blog at Lee Raitos Blog to keep up-to-date with the publishing status.
