Did they use crystals for healing in ancient Atlantis? Can crystals really heal? How does that work?

Dear Inquiring Mind,

Crystals and gemstones have electromagnetic properties that create real effects in our bodies and our energy fields. They can be marvelous helpers in our quest for healing.

Many jewelry designers are attuned to this idea, whether consciously or unconsciously. If you've ever seen a magnificent piece of jewelry, chances are that its creator was tapping into the healing energies of the stones. Crystal Healing In Ancient Atlantis

I think it's possible that the more gifted jewelry makers who combine beautiful design AND a sensitivity to the energy of the gemstones may be accessing memories from lifetimes they spent in ancient Atlantis. During the golden age of Atlantis, crystal technology had developed to an incredible degree of sophistication. But to call it "technology" isn't really accurate, because technology usually means that you are using things or exploiting something as a tool.

The Atlanteans who lived during the more enlightened centuries of that ancient civilization didn't approach crystals as "things." They honored crystals and minerals as sentient, powerful allies. Healers worked in collaboration with the crystals and learned how to team with them to balance out the energy centers and meridians of the body. They worked a lot with copper, too, because copper is such a good conduit for energy. Atlanteans wore headbands, belts, and jewelry that would keep their energy systems in balance and heighten their mental abilities and psychic gifts.

Many people who are drawn to crystals today are "remembering" how these gemstones can boost the psychic senses.

Unfortunately, in the later years of Atlantis, Luciferian sorcerers had taken control of that society and a lot of abusive behaviors entered into the culture. Crystals and metals were exploited at this time and people lost sight of the fact that crystals are alive. (Did you know that the crystalline components of much of the equipment that we use mean that they are actually "alive" to some degree? Have a chat with your computer deva the next time your printer won't work. She'll make things right.)

Healing Our Relationship with the Crystal Kingdom

We have a lot to make up for in healing our relationship with the crystal and mineral kingdom. But some people seem grossly out of touch with this.

I had a metaphysical teacher who was off-base when he talked about how to use crystals for healing. During class, a student asked how you use a crystal, and the teacher said, "You just COMMAND it to help you with the healing."

I raised my hand and timidly said, "Um, wouldn't it work better if you ASKED the crystal to help you?"

He didn't much like my impudence! He grunted a short response and basically ignored me.

All of the gifted healers I've been privileged to interact with have found that healing is always more effective if you can connect with the crystal or stone first and ask ITS will. After all, you wouldn't rush up to a stranger and demand that he heal you. Neither should you push a crystal into any behavior. Always ask permission first.

Every crystal, stone, or mineral has a devic energy attached to it. This is the earth guardian who is assigned to monitor the activities and energies of that crystal. Think of the deva as the equivalent of a guardian angel, operating from the spiritual realm, only it is connected in an intimate way to the crystal or stone.

Earth guardians can be tremendous partners when you are doing a healing. And if you're creating a piece of jewelry and you ask the earth guardian to inspire you and guide you in your creation, you're guaranteed to design a masterpiece. The devas are very creative, and they love it when we humans step down from our egotistic vantage point (thinking humans are the only sentient beings on the planet) and connect with them through the loving energy of the heart. They make fabulous friends, the crystal guardians do.

When a Crystal Decides to Follow You Home

The crystal guardians also have funny ways of making things happen when you need a particular crystal for your own healing. I went to a holistic festival yesterday, and while I was there I got the message that there was this one amethyst crystal who wanted to go home with me. So I bought that.

When I got home I found that the merchant had mistakenly put a beautiful piece of garnet in my bag, too!  I drove back to pay her for it and said, "This one followed me home, and I think it's meant to be with me."  She didn't know how that piece had gotten into my bag, but she chuckled. "That happens sometimes. The crystals and stones know where they need to be."

Later on that night, I did some powerful meditation work with my new goodies. I was given the information that I need the garnet to balance my lower chakras. I tend to be "top-heavy," too focused in my upper chakras, and I forget about the body sometimes. Garnet is a wonderful gemstone to balance out your root and sex chakras. Its deep red color is quite pretty, too!

Now I never would have thought to purchase a garnet because I wasn't paying attention to this imbalance that was going in my own body. But somehow, the guardian of garnet knew. So he jumped right into my shopping bag and hitched a ride. Good for him!
