Here is a question, maybe a statement too; it really depends on your point of view. A friend asked me "Who are your angels?" I gave him a VERY simplistic answer: “My children.” Actually, to me angels can be the spirits of any (living) thing around me. What do you think? -- Auraglow, Edmonton, Canada

People have a lot of curiosity about how to communicate with angels, what they are, what their names are, etc. I think it's perfectly normal to refer to your children as angels! My furbabies (the gazillion cats I look after) are my angels, too. They really do cheer me up and heal me when I’m feeling down, and they’re great companions.

But in my experience, angels are advanced spiritual beings who are one step up the "rung"' from us, evolutionally speaking. They have never experienced physical form before, and they have never fallen into duality consciousness like we experience. Some people believe that we have only one guardian angel who looks after us throughout this lifetime. My experience is that there are a wide range of angels who hang out with people. Just like spiritual guides, they are here to guide us with different areas or "departments" of our lives. So one angel might be helping you to heal negative energy within your family, another might specialize in stimulating your spiritual awareness and psychic abilities, etc.

Spiritual guides are different from angels, because they have had human form at some point. Usually they are very advanced spiritually and have been trained in the higher realms about how to function as a spirit guide. (So if your grumpy, bitchy, Aunt Edna passes away, don’t assume that she’s becoming your spiritual guide. That might not be a good thing! You need someone with great clarity, love, and wisdom to fill that role.) Spiritual guides have human names, whereas angels names always end in "ael" or an "el' type sound. (At least, their names sound like this to our ears. Their real names exist as pure vibration, not as words.)

It’s important to use discernment when trying to communicate with an angel or guide. There are many pretenders out there who like to confuse spiritual people, especially those who are filled with lots of unconditional love. If you ever have questions about an entity you are communicating with, ask the powerful archangel, the spiritual warrior Michael, to reveal the truth to you. He'll help you to see past any tricks and see right into the heart of the matter.

A lot of beings that channelers are working with are bad news. I’ve seen a lot of cases of very real psychic possession with channelers, all because they have given away their personal energy (and often their livelihood) to a being who can perform a few tricks for them. A real angel or spiritual guide will never come into your body or take over your nervous system. Loving helpers from the higher realms gently, lovingly, impress information, images, vivid dreams, or ideas into your mind, but their touch is gentle, not pushy or invasive.
