Why Most Affirmations Fail and the Four Building Blocks of Successful Affirmations

This book discusses the nuts and bolts of the Law of Attraction, a neutral law, and teaches you how you can start attracting more of what you WANT instead of what you DON'T WANT.

The Law of Attraction shows us that we are constantly CREATING as well as MISCREATING. When we see that it all stems from the same place -- that vibration that we're putting out through our emotions, intentions, and actions -- we can start shifting into experiencing situations that give us happiness instead of sorrow.

I've outlined extremely specific steps you can take to put the Law of Attraction to work for you. And she’s laid out four basic building blocks of successful affirmations in a way that doesn't require you to "believe" anything. These principles simply ARE, and I encourage you to make use of them!

Testimonials about the book are pouring in:

"As I read your delightful eBook, I see it's grounded in common sense, with liberal dashes of zesty inspiration and lots of practical advice from someone who's ‘Been there, done that.’ Awesome!"

News From the Home Office

Whew! I can't believe that another year has flown by!  Where did it go?  Is it just me, or does it seem like a week passes in the blink of an eye now, and a month takes about two blinks?

I want to thank all my longtime readers for bearing with the continuing evolution of my LipstickMystic.com site and my other ongoing projects.  I've been experimenting with featuring ads for cool products at my site, and while it makes the pages look a little crowded, I enjoy recommending vendors whose products I believe in.  So many of you have written to me and thanked me for turning you onto a wonderful author, jewelry store, or infoproduct that you had never heard of before.  I love being the "connecting link" that can bring cool things and people together!

I also want to extend a big energy hug to all my new readers who are finding me through my newspaper and magazine columns. Over the next weeks readers on the big island of Hawaii, in Richmond, Virginia, and the Santa Cruz area of California will start seeing my astrology columns in their local papers. And some of my other columns are popping up all over the place in cities across the US, including St. Louis, State College, PA, and Chicago.  A big hello to you all! Look in your paper to see if they are running one of my weekly columns:  Lipstick Mystic Stars, Romance Planet, Lipstick Mystic Love Forecast or the Cosmic Informer. And if they're not, write to the editors and tell them they should be!

As we head into 2007, I wanted to offer you some thoughts on how you can make those New Year's Resolutions stick.

The Trick to Making Those New Year's Resolutions Stick

Are you good at making New Year’s resolutions but not so good at keeping them? If so, you’re not alone!

At the start of the New Year most of us are filled with good intentions. We truly want to improve ourselves. Whether our goal is to lose weight, save money, or find a better job, we all have aspects of our lives that we’d like to change. But how can we do this with an entire year stretching in front of us? Sometimes the idea of keeping a resolution for a whole year can seem overwhelming.

The good news is that there is one simple “cheat" that can maximize your chances of keeping those resolutions. It’s deceptively simple, yet very few people put it into practice. If you use this trick you’re guaranteed to increase your success rate with any goal you are focusing on for the New Year.

Did you know that the very first moments of creating a New Year’s resolution determine its success or failure? Here’s how to start your resolution off on the right track.

When you come up with a New Year’s resolution, you need to be careful to phrase your intended goal as if it is already manifesting in the present. As you put together the words, imagine that you are already getting results. Use language that affirms success instead of wanting or hoping.

So instead of telling yourself “I want to lose weight" or “I am going to lose weight this year," try “I am losing weight today and every day."

This small tweak – stating your resolution as if the condition you want to achieve is already happening – will increase your success tenfold!

By framing your goal in the present tense, you raise your energy levels. Notice the difference in how these two phrases feel:

“I will lose weight."

“I am losing weight today and every day."

“I will lose weight." Hmm. That sounds like it’s going to be a lot of work, doesn’t it? And the words don’t have any spark to them.

Compare that with “I am losing weight today and every day." Now that sounds nicer! The words have a feeling of excitement. As you say these words, you enter into a state of confidence. These words make it easy to believe that you’re really losing weight and that you will continue to lose weight. These words boost your mood. Just focusing on them for a few minutes a day should inspire you to eat healthier and get more exercise.

When you frame a goal in the present tense using the words “I am" instead “I hope" or “I want," you’re actually doing something called an affirmation. Affirmations or positive self-talk are proven tools for enhancing success. Sports experts learned decades ago that if an athlete uses affirmations as part of his training, his muscle mass is likely to increase and his physical agility and stamina improve. Using affirmations to make this connection between mind and body is extremely powerful.

You can put affirmations to use for yourself by stating your New Year’s resolutions using “I am."

So if you’re trying to lose weight, you might want to use this affirmation: “I am losing weight effortlessly and easily."

If you are seeking better cash flow, try this one: “I am attracting financial abundance everywhere I go."

If you’d like to make some new friends or a meet a new romantic partner, you can use: “I am a magnet for interesting and attractive people."

If you’ve been fatigued or emotionally burned out, use this affirmation: “I am filled with physical energy and emotional well-being."

Experiment with creating different phrases in this style. Don’t be afraid to mix and match or come up with your own. If you want to set New Year’s resolutions covering many aspects of your life, you might want to create a list of affirmative statements like the ones above that address everything from finances to physical health and relationship satisfaction.

It’s best to take your time coming up with your resolutions and make sure that they are positive phrases that will truly inspire and energize you throughout the year. Reading them or speaking them aloud should make you feel happy, hopeful, and centered. If any of your resolutions has a “droopy" feel, then you need to tweak it to make it more uplifting.

It’s important that the phrases you create boost your spirits. That way, as you look over your list of resolutions each day or meditate or pray upon them over the next months, you’ll have increased willpower and determination to see them through. You’ll feel really good about setting these goals in motion.

Before you know it, you’ll become a New Year’s resolution powerhouse -- taking aim at those goals and making your dreams come true.
